Happy New Year! New year, new thoughts, new creation. We, at Tamriel Vault's Story Corner like to start this year rolling with our yearly event celebrating the creativity of our Vault writers. Whether you are an experience word smith or just starting out, you are welcome to participate. This year, we are shaking up the event by introducing the concept of themes. You will have several choices, so pick one and let your imagination run wild. Feel free to comment and use this thread and a sounding board for ideas, as a shoulder to cry on, as a screen to bang your head on.
You may think be thinking... Wait? Themes? Aren't these restricting? You can interpret the themes literally if you want, or go completely abstract. The point is that we in The Story Corner want to see how you do with these unusual concepts, what kind of stories you can spin from them. The themes are given below.
Theme One - Aching Bones, Aching minds
Theme Two - Bun in the Oven
Theme Three - Under the Moonlight
With any organized event we have a set of rules in order for your submission to qualify for this event.
1. A minimum of 2000 words and a maximum of 20k (You hear that Long-Chappa? Only 20k words! Stop crying and deal with it!)
2. All stories are to be submitted in Blog format adhering to blog rules.
3. You can have stand alone story between 2 and 20k or a story that is divided into chapters and organized in a ToC, so long as the final word count of that multi-part story doesn't exceed 20k words.
4. Stories must be set in either the Fallout or Elder Scrolls Universe.
5. Stories must be submitted between 12am January 1, 2018 to 11:59pm January 31, 2018.
6. All entries must be tagged correctly (see below). This is so in case we can give presents for this event (badges), we can find you.
7. Post a link to your finished AMOSS entry here, so it can be added to the list.
Theme one tag: Event:AMOSS2018Theme1
Theme two tag: Event:AMOSS2018Theme2
Theme three tag: Event:AMOSS2018Theme3

You know what...Fine, I'm going to participate myself in an AMOSS, why not, I've got to try something new and January is so free that I need something to do. Though I do have to double check. My plan is to write a short story (or probably go the chapter route) that ties in with World Cycle. It'll still be separate but is that alright to do?
I think I'll be going with Theme Three though, that's probably the easiest for me to work with there (Theme Two would be...interesting to say the least :P), very fun times ahead.

Huzzah! Time for another AMOSS. Hard to believe this is actually the third one I've seen. Maybe I'll actually submit something, eh? XD Don't hold me to that. My focus, as always, is on Frost Moon. Going to get that wrapped up, though I really like the concept of themes... If I get any ideas... I may just run with it. :D

Yay to all the participants! Over the weekend, I'll mull over what I want to do. My last AMOSS was Going Elsweyr. Not sure what I'll do here, all three themes have strong stories in them from the Straag Universe. I'll think about it and maybe post some ideas here tomorrow an you all can pick what you like maybe or what you'd like to read.

So thinking about going to Dive Rock, guys with that horror story about the end of the Void Nights (Theme three) and good old Bumph (theme one). Or I write about Albee's run to the Jerrals (theme 1). Or I write about a bun in the oven. :P
