Just noticed the typos - sorry about that. My first draft disappeared when I went to save it and I had to start again! I did check back but clearly not thoroughly enough. Not using Picasa again!

Heh, screw typos. :D
Anyway, this is very good book. One of the rare ones portraying how actually magic works outside the games.
Vampiric Mist? Stealing entire army's strength and giving it to your army? Damn. That gives the Imperial Battlemage title whole new level.
It's interesting that it is classified as Destruction though. Yeah, in Oblivion, Destruction had spells that lowered enemies' attributes and skills, but it was restoration that allowed you to Absorb attributes or skills.
Interesting indeed. Good find, Idesto. Get me more!
