My mind melted away ... i yhink

Hey, I got some questions I need answered for a build concept:

    1. are there any Aedra or Daedra associated with the Sun or Moon?

    2. I know Meridia, Azura or Vaermina are associated with the themes of day and night. Is any of these worshipped by the Altmer or are they strictly forbidden in Altmer society?

    3. In regard to my first question, is Auri-El perhaps related to the Sun? He is mentioned in the 'Tyranny of the Sun' as an enemy and Vyrthur wants to limit Auri-El's influence on Mundus by blocking the Sun.

    1. Azura would be the closes with the Dawn and Dusk I guess, otherwise I don´t think so.

    2. Of all the three, only Azura is associated with that. Vaermina is about nightmares, horrors and such while Meridia is...light, but not sunlight. Let´s think about it as...soul-light, ok?

    3. Auriel...I´m not entirely sure where that thing with Auriel came, you know?

Penitent, give thanks and praise to the soul of Anu the Everything, father to us all. The scales and fangs and flame of the creator envelop all of the people. Always.

To complete your venerations here, intone: "By the Fixed Center and his hand in our lives, we are all made safe. Auri-El, grant me the stability of the Divine. Be always at my side."

Doesn´t say much about Sun. I personally think that the notion of Auriel being also light is more of a Snow Elves thing. Maybe Auri-El for Snow Elves was amalganation of Auriel and Magnus? Or maybe just because Sun is the...window into Aetherius it is associated with Auriel? Tough one.

Thanks, Karver! Hmm... Azura... I guess I can make it work for my Altmer character even if Azura is mainly associated with Dunmer.

For 3. I was talking about the prophecy in Dawnguard, but the Sun being the window into Aetherius makes sense to me. If the Sun is veiled then Auri-El can't see on the world.

Possible, yeah. Sun is a tear in reality through which Magnus escaped. This tear alows the light of Aetherius shine through. I saw few mentions of the sun being called Magnus, but as I said, the window can be associated with Auriel too.

What's the relationship between Cyrodiil and Hammerfell after Great War? I know redguards are offended by Imperials abonding them but I have also read Empire disbanded their armies in Hammerfell so they can stay and help.

And would Redguards support Stormcloaks in CW?

I want to start a Whet-Fang build, having some trouble on what skills and gear to choose as the lore on this vampire bloodline is so scarce. Any help is appreciated!

Sadly, there´s not much on them, but we know this:

or the Whet-Fang sodality of Black Marsh, who use magicka to keep captives catatonic and harvest from them the red nectar

So they are gifted with strong magicka and they paralyze their victims, like spiders. I think you can build from that. Paralyze and maybe bleed damage.

The other resource that comes to mind is Emer's build The whet-fang, for reference.

Ah damn, 31st December and I completely missed your question, Riokochi. For that I´m deeply sorry.

Redguards didn´t agree with White-Gold Concordate and kept fighting Thalmor for another five years and most of the southern Hammerfell was decimated. They saw it as a betrayal from Titus Mede, that he should have kept fighting. So the relationship with Empire isn´t good.

Neither is with the Nords really. They clash with their believes a lot, because Redguards have this Elven way of seeing things, where Lorkhan is the Demon while for Nords he´s the Hero of Mankind. Both nations also clashed a lot, mostly fighting over Dragonstar I think. I think it all comes down to this: What use would it be to Redguards if the Empire would loose Skyrim and eventually fall to Thalmor?
