Dagoth-Ur: Bad Guy Or Just Misunderstood?

  • August 25, 2015

By making holes in their faces? Ugly growths from their face?

I don't think Dunmeri views on beauty are the same as ours. Also when you touch godhood what your face looks like is probably the last of your worries.

Oh come on. Everyone knows that missing face makes you a monster

I really don´t buy this. Almost 3/4 of Blighted creatures were just mindless zombies. How does that make them gods?

Well sure like I said, the ones who can't comprehend enlightenment become slaves just like how they were slaves (Lazy Slaves) to the status quo in life.

Well, I really don´t buy this philosophy. If someone´s serving you shit on silver plate and keeps telling you it is delicious cake, you´ll still know it´s shit.

And frankly...blighted creatures look like shit.

The trouble with Dagoth-Ur is that you need to go down a very deep rabbit hole of lore to figure it out. This was at one point the the scholarly work held in the highest esteem. i didn't get it all then and still don't fully comprehend now truth be told.

Curious that Azura didn't lift her curse on the Dunmer after the events of Morrowind/Tribunal...

Seems out of character for her to continue to punish an entire race for the mistake of three greedy fools.

Though if she had lifted her curse we'd just be left with more Altmer as I seem to remember there's no real biological difference between the Chimer/Altmer except region/beliefs.

Depends if you take the rubbing of the remains of Trinimac in to their faces as being literal. Also I'd be more inclined to call Azura the greedy fool rather than ALMSIVI.
