I think it can be something related to how the Hist perceives Argonians. Like for the Hist, any sentient creature who drinks the sap can be considered Argonian, they perhaps don't distinguish between them. It can be a load of bullshit too

So it's all about what the Hist thinks? That's a pretty cool concept.
But I guess until we get an official "canon" source we can ignore the wonderful roleplay potential such a possibility brings solely because of how we feel about the author.

I'm not sure to be honest, although the book The Strange Case of Ja-Reet seems to imply that an Argonian can be born and never connect to the Hist and have a huge social disadvantage over others.
That'd make for good fun roleplay too, no?

Nope Anyway, it does not have such a big roleplay potential IMO. So, say, your Bosmer is an Argonian for the Hist, who cares? Your character won't know anything about it anyway
