Ok i want my Main Character to play through the Dragonborn DLC but he is no Dragonborn. I have Explanations for the 2 shouts i will use which are Bend Will and Durnehviir. Durnehviir will be a Necromanic Incantation and Bend will is Taught to Him by Hermaeus Mora.
Now all i need is a way to explain the ability to Absorb Dragon Souls. He is a good Aligned Necromancer. Any Ideas?

Maybe say it is some sort of necromantic ritual you learned from Mora that lets you trap the soul of a dragon or something. I played once a Neutral Evil necromancer who had the Atranach stone from the Aurora stones mod and he could only regenerate magic from slain enemies and nothing else so I also roleplayed it that he was sucking their souls (MK Shang Tsung anyone? :D) through his necromancy and did the same with dragons. Not sure if that helps, gl.

How crazy is your Necromancer?
Perhaps he has found a way to soultrap a dragon (make sure to cast in every single fight with a dragon, or multiple times even) and use his own body kinda like a soul gem.
Harvesting the soul energy for himself in the process.
Easily combined with Duvain's answer aswell.

Edited the wording a little bit.
I am now intrigued how the Ideal Masters could perform a soul trap while possibly being unable to leave the realm(s) where the trapped souls will be.
Can anything be soultrapped while already IN the soulcairn?
You do have a point though, it is quite possible it could end up destroying the necromancer.
Wait that sounds familiar? Necromancers destroying themselves in an attempt to gain more power?
(In this case I wasn't going for the most lore realistic answer, maybe should've added that aswell)
