So, I popped in Oblivion for the first time in two-ish years and WOW. I forgot how early PS3/360 the graphics and whatnot were. Granted, I never really played with TOO many mods when I played Oblivion, but dang, potato heads abound

I actually quite like Oblivion's graphics the way the are. They might not be the best, but they're not bad enough that I've ever felt the need to use graphics mods (I'm probably in a minority there, though). I have found it to look a lot better on PC at Very High settings, as opposed to on the 360, however.
I've also grown quite fond of the way Vanilla Morrowind looks, but I did use the Graphics Extender for a bit in the beginning. I've honestly never been much for a game's graphics, but once again, I'm probably a minority there; If I like it, I'll play it, regardless on if it was made in 2017, or 2007.
However, if you're on PC, I'd recommend the Oblivion Character Overhaul for the heads. If it's one thing I dislike about Oblivion, it's the heads...

Yep! Morrowind's graphics are charming. Like many, I started off with Skyrim - so when I got Morrowind, I was very concerned I wouldn't enjoy it because of the severely dated graphics and gameplay... Boy was I very wrong :D Morrowind is fast becoming a favorite of mine!

Art style, that's the word I was thinking of! And yes, it does really fit the game quite well. I've actually found that a lot of the graphical and HD re-texture mods out there seem to stand out a bit too much from the original, thus I tend to just play with Vanilla graphics.
While we're talking about Morrowind, Fast Travel (Or lack there of) was also a bit of a let down for me at first, but after I actually got to it and started walking, I actually found it quite enjoyable! Much more than the other games, anyhow.
And without the compass showing you every undiscovered location in the area, it feels a lot more like you're actually doing the discovering, which makes it seem that much more reaistic.

Man, I should really play Arena again! I just find it incredibly difficult to get out the first dungeon, but oh well...
Daggerfall, on the other hand, I've had some fun with. I pretty much never do the main questline, though, just run around adventuring. Been a while since I've played it, too, now that I think about it. Guess I know what I'm doing over the weekend!
