Backstory:
Niklaus was born and raised on the Imperial City of Cyrodiil. His father, Mikael the Paladin, was the leading commander of the city, where he and his wife died at the when the Thalmor attacked the Imperial City during The Great War. Niklaus was just 5 at the time.
Niklaus was orphaned but being the son of a prestigious paladin Michael, he was raised to be his succsessor one day. He took his fathers name as his last name to remind himself who he was.
Over the course of 25 years Niklaus proved he was a prodigy child as the elders of the Legion commented on how he surprassed his old man as a paladin. His great war efforts were noticed by the higher ups as he fought of the raiders, bandits and cutthroats from all over Cyrodiil. He was assigned to serve the Legion in Skyrim under the well known General Tullius to stop the uprising known as the Stormcloak Rebellion.
"I've been in Skyrim for 6 months. General Tullius is a both effective and amazing leader, his battle strategies and sources will ensure our victory. This meaningless rebellion must be stopped as soon as possible, Ulfric started a chaos in Skyrim and weakened us, I really respect his cause and code of honor to reclaimd Skyrim from its 'foes' but he forgot who the real enemy was. While we fight amongst ourselves The Thalmor are checking our every move. The Legion is being kept from taking action because of this meaningless pissing contest. But it should end soon enough, General is playing his last card up in his sleeve, we will ambush Ulfric at Darkwater Crossing and bring him to justice. Soon the 'Stormcloaks' will disband, and only after that may we take action on The Thalmor."
Profile: Niklaus The Paladin
At Nicklaus' point of view the rebellion, thalmor and other events of Skyrim are all connected. He sees Ulfric’s Rebellion as a distraction from the real threat. The civil war is just another move by the Thalmor to ‘thin the herd’ so they can destroy the empire and claim Tamriel under elven supremacy.
As a paladin Niklaus fights for justice and for those who can not defend themselves. He has no racial favourites and treats everyone equally. If he can avoid killing someone he won’t, he’ll chose another way to solve the problem. He gives charity to those in need and may go out of his way to help a poor soul in need.
But he doesn’t just fight fort the greater good like other paladins and Legionnaires, he also fights for himself, he questions his actions, reasons and sometimes does the questionable thing and may go to extremes if it justifies the means.
But this civil war will change him for good, the chain of events he is going tol ive through will affect him drastically. It shall set an example to what a drip of power can do even to the best of us.
Events In Skyrim:
After the execution of Ulfric Stormcloak was interrupted by Alduin it was back to square one. The troops had gathered the information that Ulfric’s men had found the Jagged Crown. He joined Legate Rikke on a mission to take it from them, which was successful. He was then sent to deliver the Jarl of Whiterun a message. The bells of war were ringing.
The Battle for Whiterun was a bloody battle, Niklaus barely survived and he felt useless as the Stormcloaks passed one barrier after another. The battle was won but the cost was too high. He felt his mind crumbling into pieces as he watched the corpses of his fellow Legionnaries and innocent citezens. He felt the weight of their deaths on his shoulders, it was his burden and his fault for being weak. But everything was about to change. He was sent to the Pale Imperial Camp to liberate the Pale Hold from Stormcloack influence.
Full moon was hangin in the sky just over Fort Dunstad, Legionnaries charged “FOR THE EMPIRE” right through the barriers, the battle crys and the ring of steel against steel disturbed the night. The smell of blood called forth a pack of beasts so mighty legionnaires and stormcloaks had to stop fighting each other. A pack of werewolves sacked the fort and ate through the steel and flesh of the soldiers. By the sunrise there was no one left standing except for almost dead Niklaus, he was amazed by the power of the werebeasts and smiled as he looked at his bite wound.

After this event Niklaus became a prime member of the Legion, he was the last man standing on the Fort Dunstad and his strenght was at the top. He single handedly carried the liberation of Skyrim by crushing his enemies, he was much stronger then he used to be and he didn’t have to rely on restoration as he used to. He single handedly defeated Ulfric Stormcloak on one-on-one combat. His powers as a werewolf was increasing everyday as he went on hunting more often. And he even gained the favor of Daedric Prince Hircine and was gifted with his ring which made his inner wolf much stonger.
"Power.. is Everything. One can not achieve his dreams and fulfill his ideals with good will and a nice smile. To acquire power I will travel to the Oblivion and back, I will rip it from the hands of an orphan I will go through anything to make this world better, to bring Tamriel peace. Even so I might destroy it."
After becoming a werewolf he started to enjoy the act of hunting and travelling through the wastelands of Skyrim. He hunted dragons and giants but he discovered that vampires were his rivals and the most enjoyable hunt as their awful smell gave them away quickly.
His travels brought him back to Whiterun and something about that place compelled him, the mead hall Jorrvaskr, the inner circle of the Companions were werewolves and strong warriors just like him. He joined the compainons on a path to glory and battle as he was welcomed to the pack by Skjor and Aela he felt he was growing even stronger.
After Kodlak’s death Niklaus replaced him as the Harbinger by his will. On the night he returned from the Tomb of Ysgramor a pack of vampires attacked Whiterun and were heading for Jorrvaskr, they were challenging him but were no match for Niklaus. After the battle an orc named Durak came to him and invited him to join the Dawnguard and take the fight to the vampires.
He was sent to clear out Dimhollow by the leader of the Dawnguard, Isran. He found a woman trapped in the tomb’s puzzle named Serana. She was a vampire but there was something different about her. She didn’t attack Niklaus but wasn’t too pleasent with the smell either. Still asked for him to guide her home. His father Harkon and his cannibal cult of vampire lords thanked him for Serana’s safe return and offered him to cleanse himself of his dog blood and walk in the shadows with them. Confident in his powers Niklaus stood by as Harkon transformed. He felt the pressure of Harkon’s power against his face. He accepted his offer and became a vampire lord. Or so he thought…
After the events of Dawnguard Niklaus’ heart was corrupted with power, even though he managed to be real friends with Serana, they became an unbeatable couple. After claiming Harkon’s place as the lord of the castle, he decided to take a walk around it. Under the dazing the full moon…He fell to the ground and pounded. He was amazed as he felt the beast withing come back to life and once again howl at the moon.
The Hybrid was born, with a fury to take over the worlds.
