    Prologue

This is the tale of Lutherus Sotasius - a 24 year old bookworm from the lands of Cyrodiil, far from the winds of civil unrest that prevail in Skyrim. As young boy, there is much Lutherus will come to learn in this new, cold and hostile land, possibly the most important in his new found and well, unplanned situation, is to hold a sword against potential foes. For you see, Lutherus did not come to this land to feast on the escalating confrontation between the might of the Imperial Legion, and the Stormcloak Rebels, he came here with the sole purpose to study at the grand College of Winterhold, to expand his extensive qualifications.

Well, that was the intention, had the damned Stormcloaks not gone and fooled the impressionable youth into parting with his 1000 Septims intended to purchase his tuition, on the false pre-tense that it was a border tax. But there was little Lutherus could do, the Stormcloaks gave him little choice - pay up, or become a prisoner of the rebellion, and for being such a minority, Lutherus knew the Legion wouldn't come to the aid of a minor.

Speaking of the Legion, it just so happened that once the transaction of gold was secured, General Tullius and several of his companions sprung their elaborate trap. Lutherus found himself in the middle of what would become the greatest turning point of the Skyrim Civil War, ever since the assassination of High King Torygg, at the hands of Ulfric Stormcloak - leader of the rebellion and now, prisoner of the Imperial Legion.

The prison wagons arrived at a place called 'Helgen', final stop for the prisoners, including Lutherus. Considering the majority of them being Stormcloak rebels, Lutherus and a small time vagabond from Rorikstead, found themselves pleading with the Imperial authority to let them go, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. Lutherus remained silent after that, what little consolement was offered from Hadvar did nothing to lighten Lutherus' position.

One by one, the prisoners were marshalled toward a chopping block. One of the Stormcloak lieutenants, a fearless redhead took honour in his death, taunting the Imperials to the last breath. Upon Lutherus' turn, he said nothing - he could only glare at the female Imperial Officer who had sealed his fate. Positioning his head above the basket, the executioner readied his mighty axe, and was just about to swing when he was interrupted by the most unlikeliest of interruptions.

    A great, big, bloody dragon.

Helgen descended into fiery chaos, the Legion's archer's and magi doing all they can to suppress the mighty beast, but there was little to halt the destruction. In the panic, Ulfric and his lieutenants escaped, a chance they could not afford to pass up. Lutherus escaped into Helgen keep alongside a burly Imperial authority, named Hadvar, the same man who had offered him sympathy prior to his execution.

It may seem strange that Lutherus would of escaped with the person who by order of his superior, would allow him to the chopping block, but do not forget to realise that Lutherus at this point had no choice. He certainly wasn't going to side with the thieving Stormcloak bastards - they were the ones who got him in his predicament in the first place!

Hadvar guided the young Imperial throughout the Keep and eventually into the caves below. Remember, Lutherus prime method of muscle is his brain - he would of been more of a liability behind a sword at this point. Hadvar put up a staunch defence to free the young lad, throughout the winding cave network, and even offered Lutherus his bow prior to finding the exit. The pair exited, cautious of the beast as it swooped the valley, towards Riverwood. Hadvar advised Lutherus to head there immediately as his uncle, the village Blacksmith could possibly offer refuge. Without much other option, Lutherus would oblige.

And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is where the story of Lutherus can truly begin...

It's much better than anything I could write, if a bit literal in transcribing the events of the game
