Join Gwaihen and Derkeethus on their quest to retrieve the White Phial and rescue a missing child.  A tale of mishaps, adventure, woe, Eye of the Wind considers the effects of power when given to those who would either rebuke it or covet it.

    Story Discussion

Gwaihen's journey continues with the aid of Valindor, a friend from out of the blue, as she attempts to reclaim that which was lost to her.  While travelling along the path of redemption, treading the line between what is and is not possible, she is indeed taking The Longest Road.

    Mercy for the Chosen

    Character Discussion

Follow Arnau Jurard's exploits as a knight across Skyrim.  Honor-bound may describe him, but there is a darker side to his perceived chivalry.   For his actions often raise the question of what is and is not considered mercy.

Part I - Honor Thy Father

Ch. 1: Blinded by the Light

Ch. 2: Lying Before a King

    Poetry

A collection of poetry related to Skyrim, but not related to any particular story.

And that was all, folks.  The Longest Road is now complete and Gwaihen is going into retirement.

Won't you import Gwaihen in TES6? Or even ESO?

  • April 27, 2013

ESO is probably impossible since that takes place in a time before she even exists.  But TES6 is a possibility.

So when can we expect the introduction to Mercy for the Chosen? Arnau sounds like an absolutely brilliant character.

I'm going to start him once I get my new computer and all the mods I have lined up for him ready to go.  That way, I can play around with cranking my settings to the max and really pushing things visually.  Shipping and set up (software/mod wise) should take about 2-3 weeks--maybe a month.

I'd really like to shoot this story with an ENB installed, and I'm trying to decide if I want to go with a really drastic environmental change.  (ie Project Reality Winter Edition and go with a whole Game of Thronesish thing or Skyrim Flora Overhaul Summer Edition and go with a medieval Europe thing.)

    Here's an example of each:

If I do go for a change, I'm leaning toward the winter edition.  I think that'll be more interesting with Frostfall.  It's easy to uninstall if I don't like it. :)

In addition, I'm still deciding at what level I want to start his story.  Do I want to go with a Gram Myth-Maker kind of thing and start him at the top only to break him down?  Or do I want to go with something like making him a shipwreck victim and building him from the bottom up?

I rather like the idea of starting him at about level 10-20.  It's hard for me to imagine him becoming suddenly incompetent, especially if he was already in the service of a lord and operating as a knight.  I think the shipwreck will be where I do my actual start, but I'll table those screenshots for later exposure during the story.  I don't want to do a prologue this time.  We're jumping right into the middle of things!

I know where most of this story will take place, and I even know the opening scene as well as some of our key characters.  At this time, I have roughly in mind what's going to happen to him as well as a few key quests, but how we actually get from point A to point Z is still a bit of a mystery.

And on top of all that, I've entertained thoughts of writing this as an epic poem or in a very different, perhaps episodic, style.  Seems I have a couple of weeks to really decide.  What do you think?
