Your Story
As a child your were orphaned and carried to Skyrim via ship. It was all so long ago you don't even remember where your true home is or who your parents were for that matter. Life was not so bad in the orphanages. There were plenty of children your age with similar history who all made for great friends. You would often use your imagination to be a grand warrior or a noble scholar. But your absolute favorite thing to be in your games was a treasure hunter! Always looking to slay the dragon and collect the riches of his cavern. As you neared adulthood you were finally adopted by an older Imperial couple. They were not of wealth but had influence with several merchants and tradesman through their small farm business. After asking around they got you a couple of options for a first job. You jumped on the opportunity to work in the mines as it reflected your childhood and maybe you could unearth some ancient treasure. Shortly after you started this job your parents both passed in a wave of sickness. You were a hard worker and the Foreman of your mining company did not want you to leave so without having a particularly strong desire for a child he took you under his wing to keep you in the mine. As grateful as you were for this it was apparent the man did not actually want a son but a strong laborer. One day a couple of years down the road you were working in the mine and knocked out a very large and shiny jewel. As you looked into it's beauty spoke to you in a way no one had ever spoke to you before. It spoke with affection and commitment. Incapable of parting yourself from the gem you slipped it into your pocket. Months went by as you spent your nights staring into the gem for hours at a time as it spoke of all the treasures in the world that could be yours. During the day you worked viciously at the stone of the mine attempting to find more and more gold. One evening while laying in your bunk and conversing with the gem your not so kind Father and Boss barges into the sleeping quarters with a few guardsman on account of someone complaining about you always speaking to the stone. You stumble to hide the gem in your pants but it falls to the ground and rolls to the guards feet. Furious with your act of theft your Father clubs you over the head knocking you unconscious. Next thing you awake to is the carriage carrying you to Helgen for your execution sentence.

You crave gold and will do just about anything to get to it. Treasure Seekers do not normally have a very long life expectancy. It's a dangerous career that involves searching the lands for merciless caverns and haunted tombs simply to find out if there is something of value hidden at it's belly. But regardless of their life expectancy treasure seekers often turn a fantastic profit looting and selling ancient treasures to black marketeers and general goods merchants. Your wealth allows you to have almost anything you want. The Dev Avesa (mod) is a find treasure ship suitable for all of your most precious treasures to stay hidden in the sky from others. In addition the Home in Ebonvale (mod) makes for a great base of operations as it is right above a mine, dead center in a merchant based town and has plenty of showcase for your looted treasure.

PLAYING THE TREASURE HUNTER (Level 40)

Your natural luck in finding valuable objects extends to you finding additional coin everywhere you go.
Alignment: Neutral
You are not a bad person nor do you intentionally do bad things but your occasional thirst for gold and treasure gives you almost a split personality willing to do anything to obtain treasure.
In Combat: The treasure hunter plays as sort of an unstoppable force. Once he enters a dungeon the question of what treasure lies within drives him into madness as he runs recklessly hacking through anything that gets in his way. Followers are a welcomed addition to this rampage and it's beneficial to have someone with magical talents by your side.
Shouts: Aura Whisperer, Elemental Fury
Weapon: Duel Axes (preferably pick axes for role play) OR One axe and a torch (also for role play)
Armor: Heavy armor everywhere except the head which is replaced with a fine jeweled crown.
Out of Combat: Out of combat that treasure hunter is a pretty run of the mill adventurer. Simply find a place to rest your head, fill your belly, quench your thirst but never stray too far from business which is asking around about rumors of treasure or potentially rewarding opportunities.

Our dungeoneer spent a lot of his life in mines doing hard labor and did not exactly practice combat in any way shape or form. That said however he learned to properly and effectively swing a pick axe. The Dungeoneer wields a torch in his left hand to make his way through dark caverns and corridors and a pickax in his right hand to hack through anything that a dares stand between him and his jewels. His weapon doubles as a prospecting tool used to unearth gems and minerals. Optionally additional points can be invested into dual wielding for additional damage output.

Lock picking is the dungeoneer's bread and butter. If there is a chest, he is getting into it. Weather he has to pick the lock or smash it all together. The thing to remember is that by nature the Dungeoneer is not a thief so he will not be tempted to break into other peoples houses because the idea of some nice clothes and pottery does not amuse him. So perks like Wax Key and Quick Hands are not necessary.

Sometimes after risking your life to loot things your wanting to sell off for money provides a sentimental value to objects so when it comes to bringing your goodies to the market place you really strive to make get a good price. A sort of second personality can compel the treasure seeker to make questionable decisions. Additionally the extra pockets perk is perfect for carrying around so much extra loot.

The joy of exploring new places, finding new mysteries, obtaining treasure whether old or new or class of it, they still have plenty of potential to become something good if the player is creative enough. Its why I never can get enough of this fine game. Great display Nick!
I would pick up a long range attack, Have some magic, disease and poison resistance, and this character really would be unstoppable. Epicsville!

Lol. Thank you for the comment. I'm glad you enjoy the treasure hunter concept as much as I do. It's wise for the treasurer in this case to get some sort of enchantments on his armor as well as utilize stones and blessings to increase his magical endurances. I'll incorporate some specific ones.
As far as long range attacks I still struggle with it a little. I've caught myself carrying a bow just in case but I hate using it. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I agree so my finished character actually stuck with one axe and a torch so I updated the perk spread and adventure gear here to better reflect that.
