Character Build: The Priest of Dibella

    The Priest of Dibella

The Priest of Dibella is an interesting build because, as far as I can tell no ones ever tried it, the skills that the priest levels are: Restoration, Speech craft, Alteration, and Enchantment. This build is a little harder to play than most, because you don't focus on offensive skills like destruction or weapons skills like one handed and  two handed. Now you might be wondering how Alteration fits in to the Priest of Dibella's skill sets, originally I wasn't going to add it, but then I noticed that the priestesses actually use alteration when attacked. So it keeps with the story and is a practical defensive skill.

    Build:

    Race: Nord

Standing Stones: The Thief and The Lady Stone. (The Lady stone because it levels all skills quicker, and the thief stone to level speech craft.)

Major Skills: Restoration, Speech craft, Alteration, and Enchantment.

Minor Skills: One handed, Alchemy, and Archery.

Dragon Shouts: Disarm, Become Ethereal, Call of Valor. (I chose Call of Valor, because as a Priest it is harder to defend yourself, so this will make it easier.)

    Head: Cloak

    Chest: Monk's robes

Feet: Glass Boots (These look decorative but they are also practical.)

    Hands: Glass Gauntlets

    Weapon: Dwarven-Glass Mace

    Stats (M/H/S): 3/2/0

    Background:

The young child hid behind his mother and father as they argued with the three priests, "Don't you understand!" The lead priest exclaimed, "this child has been chosen by Dibella to be her voice, the child must come with us!" The child's father set his jaw, "Why would I let my only child off to a temple?" The child tugged on his fathers pant leg, "Father I want to go." The father looked down in surprise, "Are you sure?" The child nodded, the father jerked his head towards their cottage, "then go pack your things."  The child rushed inside, packed their few belongings and rushed back outside, and began their journey with the priests....

    Skills and Perks:

Restoration: The most important skill of any priest build, the ability to turn away the undead, heal allies and shield yourself from attacks, you can't have a priest build without it. This skill tree speaks for itself when it comes to healing and defense.

Alteration: The perfect defense skill for any type of magic user as well as having some offensive capabilities to help get you out of sticky situations. This skill tree works as a great secondary skill set as well as a great primary.

Speech Craft: Possibly the most lore centered skill for this build, because Dibella's  main sphere of influence is speech craft, if you look at her amulet and her blessing, you'll see why. It also comes in handy to avoid violence and killing or getting mugged.

Enchantment (Optional): A useful skill but it barely made it to the main skills category, the reason why it was added was more of a personal preference than a mandatory skill. I use it to boost my health and magicka, as well as my defenses.

Alchemy  A very useful skill, I include it in all of my classes because, you don't have to spend money on health potions, potions and poisons come in handy when you need to kill someone before they see you or if you run out of magic in a hard fight you can recharge your magic and heal yourself.

Archery (Optional): Archery is an important skill in my opinion but doesn't really fit the lore for a priest, so  its up to you if you want to enhance this skill, but I highly recommend it.

One Handed: Very important for the priest lore, a lot of priests I see in skyrim either have knives or maces, I recommend the mace, you can enchant it if you want as well, that's up to you. But maces are incredibly important to the priest class as they seem increasingly common when I travel skyrim.

    Game Play:

Now let's get down to game play, tactics and combat!

Combinations: This class only has two combinations, the first one  being the Equilibrium and Fast Healing, this is useful if your low on magic, you burn your health for magic, then burn your magic for health and it all balances out in the end. The other combo also uses Equilibrium and Guardian Circle, It helps protect you in tombs, while you recharge your magic the circle heals you.

Tactics: With the Priest of Dibella build combat can be a little tricker, for example if your a lower level in a dungeon, your going to be using your one handed weapon more than you want to, so make sure you have these spells: Oakflesh, Healing, Turn the lesser undead, and also try to get your weapon enchanted. If you already have a soul gem even a petty one enchant your weapon. These spells will get you out of trouble.

For the rest of gameplay it really depends on the situation, always have a follower and if you find yourself outmatched, run like hell.

Hi Alec! As per the CB Group minimum requirements, all builds posted here must have a perk spread (list of perks taken) and a gameplay section (explanation of how your build handles combat). Since your build doesn't meet the minimum requirements, I have to feature it. That means you have 24 hours to add a perk spread and gameplay section or this gets deleted. Good luck!

You can create your perkspread here (you can ask later also in the Art Goup Services Request Tread for a perkspread with picture). If you need any help with gameplay mechanics or something else, just ask here in your discussion or in the Character Building Help Desk :).

This seems to have a good deal of potential +1

However, as the others have said before me, this build requires a perkspread, I recommend using the Skyrim Calculator to make a perk spread and then either posting the link in your build OR asking the art group to make an image (of your selection) with your spread on it. Also a gameplay section is needed: How your character fights (or in this case, doesn't fight) and what strategies to use and when.

    Good job.

Looks like fun to play! Only we need a perk spreadsheet like others before me have said. I'd recommend the Art Request Thread for the spreadsheet or the Skyrim Calculator with a link. Both have helped me in my past builds. Oh, and +1 from me for a great idea!

Glad to hear it. Your build's been unfeatured.

It's good now, you've met all the requirements, one thing though, it appears that your perk spread doesn't cover all the skills you used, is that intentional or no?

The perk spread link I got didn't include magic skills..
