Life had been so easy as a thief.  But greed became the thief’s downfall into torment after deciding on an ill-chosen marauding of Broken Fang Cave.  The vampire that resided in the cavern proved to be more than a challenge and the thief found himself changed forever.

    Darkhunter

The Darkhunter is a vampire hunter fueled by rage and hatred for himself and other vampires.  His rage at being a vampire combined with the fire in his Dunmer blood has transformed him into a feral warrior with an unending thirst for vengeance.

    The Build

    Race:  Dunmer

Stone:  Lady Stone for health and stamina regeneration or Lord Stone for damage reduction and magic restistance.

    Primary Skills

One handed:  Twin swords channel the Darkhunter’s rage into any enemy that steps in his way.  They also serve to restore his lost pools of health and magicka.
Destruction:  Nothing unleashes the Darkhunter’s anger like the fires burning in his blood, and they will scour the vampire’s from the face of Skyrim.
Enchanting:  Malice and spite will be embedded in to his weapons and armor by him and no one else.
Light Armor:  The Darkhunter shrouds himself in leather armor as black as night.

    Secondary Skills

Sneak:  What better way to catch a vampire than unaware?
Smithing:  Just like his enchanting, the Darkhunter pounds his anger into the blades of his weapons.
Pickpocket and Lockpicking:  Life as a thief has made his fingers as deft with lockpicks and coinpurses as with a blade.

    Vampirism

He hates the disease, and despises the rage it has implanted in his soul, but he will use it to hunt the monsters down.  He refuses to let it take control though, and he feeds as often as possible, in order to keep it at its weakest strength.  And as he has no knowledge of Restoration the use of the Necromage perk will not cause him to become addicted to its power.

    Combat

Thanks to years of being a thief, the Darkhunter finds himself willing to embrace the shadows when need be.  However, at times his rage consumes him so strongly that he forgoes his subterfuge and charges in blades first.  He uses the power of his newly transformed blood to hunt the vampires he despises.  He also uses fire magicka to wreath his body in flames and to burn his enemies when he becomes overwhelmed.

In later levels he clings less to the shadows, but uses potions and scrolls of invisibility that he steals and purchases, in combination with the Silence perk, to quickly sweep in on his enemies and dispatch them.

    Gear

Diadem of Burning Rage:  Circlet of Fortify Destruction and Fortify Magicka
Vestments of the Pyromancer:  Leather armor of Fortify Destruction and Fortify Magicka
Bracers of Vengeance:  Leather bracers of Fortify One handed and Fortify Light Armor
Boots of the Nightstalker:  Leather boots of Muffle and Fortify One handed
Bloodring:  Ring of Fortify Health and Fortify Health Regeneration
Amulet of Bloody Blades:  Amulet of Fortify Health and Fortify One handed
Grimflame:  Orcish Sword of Burning Soul Trap and Absorb Health
Magethirst:  Orcish Sword of Shock and Absorb Magicka

    Level 50 Perks

One Handed:  Armsman 5, Fighting Stance, Bladesman 3, Dual Flurry 2, Dual Savagery
Destruction:  Novice-Master, Dual Casting, Impact, Augmented Flames
Enchanting:  Enchanter 5, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect
    Light Armor:  Agile Defender 5
Sneak:  Stealth 1, Muffled Movement, Light Foot, Silent Roll, Silence
Smithing:  Steel, Dwarven, Orcish, Arcane Blacksmith
Pickpocket:  Light Fingers 1, Night Thief, Extra Pockets
    Lockpicking:  Novice, Apprentice, Quick Hands

    Skills

Night of the Hunter:  The Darkhunter embraces the night with his eyes and stalks his prey.
Aura Whisper + Vampire Sight + Silence

Feral Pounce:  The Darkhunter closes the distance with his prey and attacks with reckless abandon.
Whirlwind Sprint + Dual wield power attack

Dance of Death:  The Darkhunter moves with graceful fury, dispatching his enemies with unerring accuracy.
Slow Time + Dual wield attacks

Raging Fires:  Consumed with hatred for himself and the enemies that stand in his way, the Darkhunter erupts in flames that burn everyone in his vicinity.

    Flame Cloak/Ancestor’s Wrath + Firestorm

(And as if a few of these moves didn’t already reflect Mason’s Volkihar build, I would suggest using any of his techniques to avoid health and stamina issues during the daytime.)

    Quests

Since he is a thief I suggest using the Thieves Guild quests as your cash crop.  Additionally, since we will be hunting vampires your goal will be to eradicate all of the vampires from the face of Skyrim.  Obviously, this makes Destroy the Dark Brotherhood an entirely viable quest.  Lastly, you will want to cleanse all of these vampire lairs:

And under no, I mean no, circumstances should the Darkhunter ever become a Vampire Lord.  In fact, join the Dawnguard.  NOW! ;) UPDATE: You can't complete DG quests if you remain a vampire.  Pretty stupid, in my opinion, but them's the breaks.

Lastly, I’d like to say that I know there are more powerful options such as Necromage and Fire Enchanter that would further increase this builds power, but a lot of my choices were made primarily to make this character different from the rest of the current vampires.  But feel free to change them up to suit your taste!  So, bring on your questions and suggestions!

    Thanks!

As I read this I was waiting fir you to say "and join the Dawngaurd", and you did! It is rather funny that a vampire is part of a vampire group. +1

    Yeah!!! Thanks Ben!

LOL! Glad to make you happy!  I had also thought about including the quest to cure the vampirism, but then that takes the guys entire back story away...

Yeah, maybe at the end of all your journeys after becoming a hero, wiping out vampires, etc, etc, etc... You learn about a certain Redgaurd mage that lives in Morthal that can help you. If you ever deleted this guy it would be cool to do that right before (maybe since he was alive so long when he was cure he crumbled to dust, hence the deletion).

Hah! Fantastic idea!  I'm going to include that in the build! Thanks for the suggestion!

    Thanks hehe.

Updated after I got Dawnguard.  Realized that Isran makes you get cured of vampirism if you attempt to complete the Dawnguard Faction quests...  So, lose half of your RP value, or don't do Dawnguard.

Amazing build, been searching for something like this. Although I'll make some personal changes, I'll play as an imperial and switch fire destruction with ice magic because I've already played as a dunmer and used fire magic with him. I try to make a playtrough with every race ;D

Right on, glad you like it.  I should restart this specifically, because I got all hornified when I got my hands on my first crossbow, and started decimating everything with it!
