I was thinking, some people seem to have been dissappointent with how the chat turned out, others did like it.
I myself have been on the chat for 16 hours, and it was one of the best, if not THE best chat i every had, even though it robbed me from sleep
So, did you think the chat was a dissappointment, or was it great? And why?
EDIT: I have found an off-blog chat room that we can use for now: http://tinychat.com/tav72 Just use the same user name as here. *as long as Paul is fine with this*
I don't mind it, just not on the front page. It's distracting to me. Makes me feel rushed. lol! Needs to seperate. Like under 'Forums' or it's own header. Perfer the once or twice a month thang....Idk, I'm old. It's too much 'whipper-schnapper' for me. It's odd though, I notice some names I haven't seen on here before chiming in, which is cool. Maybe they're more confortable in the 'chat' format rather than posting stuff.
I can see it's not up anymore. Did it blow up? thought I smelled smoke on here.....lol
I think that a seperate header for chat would be a good idea, it being on the front page was rather annoying somehow. I would think it would be fun if it was every weekend, and there where some members I hadn't seen before that maybe like chat as way of talking about Skyirm instead of forums and blogs.
Well, maybe we could create some sort of groups in the chat, you know, serious stuff in one group, pies in the other
EDIT- Or just get a chatroom on an external chat, you know one of those free things where you can create you own chatroom, ours would just be TheSkyrimBlog... Just throwing out ideas.
It wasn't awesome - at least not in my opinion (which after is all is the one that really counts )
When I popped in for the first couple of hours there was sensible lore-based conversation with Vix, Ponty and others. That seemed to then degenerate into puerile and silly stuff about pies etc. Overnight (UK time) it seems that there was some downright offensive stuff, which has led to several complaints into my inbox and a couple of people basically saying they aren't coming to this site anymore.
What this experiment has shown is that having an open chat feature simply doesn't work on this site. We might have an occasional structured chat from time to time, as we have done before. But only when I can be there watching over it. The open chat won't be back, ever.
