As some may already know we are redesigning the website.
At first this was a private project among admins and hosts, but we have decided to make it public for more feedback and possibly involve other Photoshop enthusiasts!
The project begins tomorrow and there's many things you can apply to make - group logos, the banner, the background, and so on. But before anything, we are deciding on the overall theme.
Vote which you like the most, or suggest your own. Here's a few ideas to start out:
Parchement theme: the website body would be a scroll, background would be plain black or wood texture, orange tones.
Castle wall theme: stone brick background, themed out of Solitude's style
Town/Tavern theme: Wood website body with medieval, iron logos just like for the shops in Skyrim's towns
You don't have to chose either of those three, you can go with anything else, those are just ideas.
AFAIK the typeface for "SKYRIM" on the official game cover is not published. Trajan Pro is about as close as you can get, and it's a damn nice looking font in its own right. The only way to use the official typeface would be to snip it from an official image (which, I assume, is what Paul/whoever designed the banner originally did).
BTW, Mason, that mockup looks really good. Much better than how I was picturing any of the original suggestions. I'd love to see something like that as the new theme.
It isn't published because it's actually a piece of artwork in its own right, loads of cool detail has been added to the original font...
If you type 'S' in Trajan you can free transform it to fit the original Skyrim logo, pretty sure they started with that font and then the artists went to town on it big time...
Yep, I sliced it from the gamebox for the original banner.
Thanks man, didn't do much. Just stole some things as usual...
