The Adventures of Kaitlyn Stonewater - Part Six

  • I've made it to Riverwood. Did some shopping. I can always use new supplies. It's a nice little town. Not very big but it has a mill, a blacksmith and the Sleeping Giant Inn.

When I first walked in to the shop, the merchant Lucan was having an argument with his sister, Camilla, about a family heirloom that was stolen recently. I was curious and asked what happened. They explained and then asked if I could possibly retrieve it for them. They aren't the adventuring type and seeing how I've “seen” a few things lately, I guess they thought I could help. They also agreed to pay me, so I said yes.

The heirloom is a golden claw. They said I'd know it when I saw it. It was taken by some bandits and are supposedly held up in a place called Bleak Falls Barrow. Another ancient ruin here in Skyrim. He showed me on the map where it was and off I went up the mountain.

What Lucan forgot to mention were the skeevers and draugr I'd be running into besides the bandits. Pleasant Surprise! Next time anyone asks for my help I'm going to be sure they tell me everything I'll encounter first before I agree to anything!

Towards the end of the ruins I faced what I now know to be a Draugr Wight Lord. He was not only strong but he kept shouting at me in a language I've never heard before. Though it seemed oddly familiar. Like the word on that wall. Every time he would yell at me it would put me on my backside.

Bruised and a little bloody, I did manage to defeat this draugr wight lord. In the chamber where the draugr was, there was also another word wall with the dragon head on top. The word glowed and my vision went dark and I heard the chanting again! Just like at Saarthal!

I still don't know what this all means, if anything, but I did manage to hang on to the golden claw for Lucan throughout all this. I wonder if he even knows what that claw was for. I actually had to use it in order to proceed through the ruins. It was a key for the door that lead me to the wight lord and word wall.

Maybe he doesn't have to know.

Oh, here are some picture I took in Bleak Falls Barrow.

That's the word wall I was talking about

    This place was enormous!
