  A mysterious death in Riverwood.

  I forgot to mention that it was around this time that a mysterious death occurred in Riverwood.

  I was returning from one of my rides in the country around the village, when I discovered the lifeless body of Hilde, Sven's mother, lying on her porch.

  I could see no sign of blood or a struggle, and eventually concluded that she must simply have died of old age, or an illness.

  Nevertheless, it was an unexpected event, and whilst I did not know the woman and had only spoken to her a couple of times, I felt sorry Sven's loss.

  However, on a more positive note, Sven now has sole occupation of his mothers house, which no doubt will improve his chances with Camilla, as Faendall already has a home of his own in the village.

  In fact, thinking about it, a more suspicious person might conclude that the death of his mother was a very convenient event for a man so desperate to win the affections of the only eligible girl in town.
