Two factors skyrim SURPRISINGLY lacks

  • Im going to use The Lord Of The Rings as an example as i feel it is the perfect and easiest one to use to get you all to see what i mean.

So, when your done with the main quest, and guilds and just enjoying a bit of role playing and exploring.....skyrim lacks something to continue to enthrall the imagination.........

    1. There is no area of mass evil/ominous threat. "a barran wasteland where evil does not sleep"..........take mordor into account. skyrim should have a huge area where one would not dare enter unless prepared for a war ...or death, i think if skyrim had a huge area of evil like Lord of The Rings mordor.....it would add a whole new dimension to the game, it would always be an area open to explore or to go to for epic battles and continuous enemies. One where if you have that gaming imagination....would feel awesome to look at and spy on from a safe distance, where u can almost feel the threat or evil, where, if you DARED you could venture in orr sneak in almost scared as you did...........doing quests and the main quest while ALWAYS knowing that this ominous evil area and its habitants are still out there, lurking . it could even add quests etc. DLC HOPEFULLY

    2. If there was a lord of the rings game out now brand new with modern engine like skyrim....wht would be the one enemy you would literally fear or dread coming across? im not talking hard to kill or strong enemy, just the sheer thought of their presence...............?

...............Ring-wraiths . Skyrim doesnt have a MYSTERIOUS evil fearful enemies lurking in the mountains or wild........ok the dragons, but after your first few fights they arent exactly something to fear, espec saying you hunt them for souls. im talking a rare enemy, where there are only so many......deadly, mysterious, SMART and fearful. skyrim needs a creature or being like this. again possibly in a DLC.

    What you guys think?

I agree with the first point, having the Red Mountain region in Morrowind did give it that extra dimension.

I must admit that I wouldn't want an area like that. I like the idea of Skyrim being an actual country where you can find loads of different environments without any place being particularly 'evil'.
I guess I am easy to satisfy, but I am actually qu...  more

@Mike if your going to post things like that on someone elses thread you could at least be courteus enough to explain yourself.
@Ryan This is a good thread with a nice idea. Using LODR/mordor as a reference perfectly depicts what your trying to say ...  more

Sorry, but that picture of Peter Jackons ridiculous depiction of Sauron/The Eye/Evil Lighthouse still gets my goat.

For your number 1. There are tons of caves that I go in and I instantly die for having SO MANY enemies come after me.
    2. What about Shades? THEY SCARE ME. They sure arent hard but the things they whisper to me many things that want me to curl up in...  more

I feel like you're trying really hard to take LOTR aspects and trying to put them into Skyrim...You have to remember, some games prefer to be original >.<
