LIVE ROLEPLAYING: A New Wasteland

  • Hello all, Emer here!

Over the course of the last few months, a small group of site members have been working tirelessly to create a new group for us all to enjoy. It is my pleasure to finally bring this project into the light, as we’ve tried to keep it under wraps as best as possible. Now, without further ado, I present to you all:

    Live Roleplaying: Fallout

    A Frozen Wasteland:
Explore the State of Michigan, covered in a perpetual nuclear winter. Mutated beasts stalk the wilds, and the ever-looming presence of radiation threatens the lives of all who wander the wastes. The wilderness is dangerous, but valuable supplies lie waiting to be found.

    A Desolate City:
Visit Destrom, the Motor City, Once known as Detroit. Irradiated after the Great War, three factions vie for dominance - the cunning Protectorate, the trigger-happy Demolishers, and the secretive Scrapers. Lost technology and perhaps even a Vault lie hidden in the ruins.

    A House Divided:
Side with one of three player-supported factions - the noble paragons at the Stadium guarded by the loyal Wolverines, the corrupt Black Hand mafiosos at the Casino, or the survivors at Deadwood Crossing. Gather resources and advance their agendas, or stand alone.

    A Hundred Items:
Find over a hundred different types of items in the world, from weapons to armour to medical supplies. By salvaging and combining some items you can craft all-new, unique items not found in the wasteland. Your arsenal is yours to find, or make.

    A Thousand Choices:
With simple character creation rules, you can jump right into the action. With simple character advancement, you can mold your character in countless ways. Even decisions your characters man in-game can have lasting repercussions. Play the game your way

    A Million Adventures:
Go on GM-run Quests alone or with other players. Fight enemies, grab loot, and get the glory. With hand-crafted adventures made by GMs or with quick randomly-generated challenges, one thing is for certain - no two Quests are ever the same.

    A Real-Time Dialog:
Talk with other players in live chat, either in-character or out-of-character. Trade items with them, go on quests together, and even fight to the death. It’s your world - forge it.

Live Roleplaying: Fallout will be open to the public on October 18th. We hope to see you there!

@ Emer, that's a relief - perhaps 'moderately sparse' may have been a better wording?

@RuneRed, you definitely are reading too much into the phrase "moderately dense." It will be far more akin to Fallout 3.

The one thing about fallout 3 and new vegas is that they should have more bugs, animals and other weirder then life organisms walking, and crawling around the waste land. This should be no different, as some of the territory is going to be on the same con...  more

aye, Borom, I never said anything about adventuring in solitude. And interacting with other survivors will be fun. Perhaps I'm reading too much into 'moderately dense' population - guess we'll know more after launch.
(I think FO:3 had about the righ...  more

How many people can there possibly be, anyway? Since it's LRP, interacting with people is going to be more important than wandering and adventuring in solitude, right?

I hate to say that I'm not happy about this latest info  - 'moderately dense' and 'new wasteland' aren't two terms that go well together, especially in a series like Fallout...I will say I am pleased with the areas presented thus far, I just hope to see m...  more

That's how the Featured block works.  The "Paul" tag brings the featured content to this block.

Hah, called it as soon as you guys posted that first "Nuclear Winter" thing. Should be interesting, I'll probably give it a look. I can't wait to see you guys run a million quests over the lifetime of the group. That's 1 quest a day for almost 3000 years!...  more
