Imperial Legate Erendur Report 5 Assault on Windhelm (2 of 3)

  •  I have arrived at Windhelm and to my surprise Rika's troops might actually be battle ready.  And while i adore speeches i think i will tune out Tulius' ranting.

Alright time to storm the gates of Windhelm! Finally!

My muscles tens in my sword arm as I practice a few swings.  A second later an arrow flies towards my face.  My instincts kick in,  I lean to the side and place my hand where my head was.  The arrow passes through my hand as i make a fist, catching the arrow.

I snap the arrow in half and yell: 'Attack'

Our soldiers run through Windhelm's gates slashing, bashing, and hacking through the Stormcloak defenders.  Feeling blood splatter on to my face, my battle blood lust pushes at the back of my mind, urging to let it loose on the enemy.

Trying my hardest to control my lust and battle rage I continue pushing through the gates I lose track of a few of my soldiers.  As I bust through the gates completely I see Ulfric himself slitting the throats of my troops,  or Rika's troops as it were.

Catching site of me and the Imperial army he flees toward his castle.  The site of my squad dead on the ground pushes me over the edge.  I let my battle blood lust take full and complete control over my actions.

I pull my bow off my back and and loose 70 arrows from my first quiver.  70 shots, 70 kills I drop my bow and pull my sword from its sheath.  Cutting through scores of soldiers I finally arrive at the doors to Ulfric's castle. picking up two arrows from the ground I walk through the doors

I close and block the doors behind me. I turn around to see Ulfric clapping.

"Well done, Legate Erendur.  You have single handedly cut through half of my GODS DAMNED ARMY!",  he said raising his voice.

Regaining his composure he continued,"Let us see how you handle me and Galmor!"

He rose from his throne, drew his sword, and motioned to Galmor.

The two large Nords ran at me, with Galmor in lead he was automatically the first target.  Taking an arrow in hand i stabbed it into Galmor's neck, releasing a rush of blood into the air and all over Ulfric's face.

Using his shock against him I rammed the second arrow into Ulfric's stomach.

Falling to the ground he begged," Please! Dont kill me! Please..."

"Ha! You the 'almighty' Ulfric Stormcloak begging for your life! You will soon learn better.....oh wait......A dead man can't hear!"

I drew my sword and pulled it cleanly across Ulfric's throat.

Tulius walked in jaw dropped.  He shook his head and motioned me outside.  Walking outside I realized that Tulius had just dragged me into another damn speach.  After about fifteen minutes of his damn speach he walked over to me.

"We need to talk," he said.

"Okay, let me just get back to.....", I started

"No! Now," Tulius commanded, " This has to do with the possible slaughtering of your personal army you whipped up, Erendur."

Lots of great action here, and nice dialogue to cut through it, too.  Your hero is certainly formidable, and the ending is very interesting...I am really curious about this personal army and that he did not command official Imperial troops.
