Latest poll shows high level satisfaction of Skyrim

  • The results of our latest poll won't be any surprise to regular members of this site. I've always said that this is a Skyrim fan site - but not a fan boy site. We try to be positive about the game, even though we will be honest enough to point out the flaws.

Before Skyrim was released I had this niggling fear at the back of my mind that, having run a Skyrim fan site for 8 months, the game would come along and turn out to be a load of over-hyped rubbish that was only fit to be used as a desk coaster - thus making me look like a bit of a chump for supporting the game for all those months! I even had visions of angry site members blaming me for getting them to fork out their hard-earned cash on a terrible game.

Well. fortunately, I can now put all those - frankly, irrational - fears out of my mind. The results are in. We LOVE Skyrim.

A total of 2,193 people voted - another poke in the eye for those who predicted that this site would die after November 11th - and exactly three quarters went so far as to say that the game met or exceeded their expectations and was, in the words of the poll, 'totally awesome'.

A further 12% were a little more cautious - they liked the game, but felt there were a few flaws that stopped it from gaining the ultimate accolade. That means that 87% of you would be - in some way - very happy with your purchase.

I was surprised that as many as 10% of you confessed to not having played the game yet - although presumably more and more of you are now getting your copies and playing. How you guys manage to keep coming to this site when most everyone here is salivating over the game is a testimony to your fortitude! So well don,e and I hope you enjoy the game when you finally get to play.

Then we have the minority viewpoints! About 2% of you say that you are disappointed with the game. And a further 1% said that you didn't think the game should even have been released! Well, all I can say is that you can't please everyone....

So, no surprises then. But good news that Bethesda has delivered a game that is gaining such an incredibly high level of satisfaction amongst players.

Game is great, could need an AI fix though. The AI is incredibly stupid, just like in Oblivion.

@mimsy, there was a spot where I killed a dragon in Windhelm and two dunmer saw me absorb the dragon soul and were in disbelief that they just saw a dragonborn. (I haven't gone far with this character at all who is also a Dunmer.) my Nord on the other han...  more

The only reason I didn't vote totally awesome is because I think I had unrealistic expectations for the Radiant AI/Story. I kind of hate that guards in every city know all the same stuff about me. I mean, I joined the College of Winterhold and guards on t...  more

If by 'he' you mean 'me' then, no I wasn't Luke
It was people, most of whom left the site saying that it was pointless and worthless after 11.11.11

I did say something about this site after 11.11.11 but I was asking about whether it will carry on. If he's talking about me then I'd be quite upset.

I didn't see or vote on this poll, but I would agree with the totally awesome. I also agree with all these coments so far. It amazes me how some people might not like or enjoy it. How could you not? This is the best game on the market right now. Are peopl...  more

I'm with Kevin there. I've played 60+ hrs so far, and I feel as if I haven't even scratched the surface. I thought I finished the dark brotherhood quest line, but BAM! There's more. Much like Paul, I've made several new characters, but I think I've finall...  more

I am enjoying Skyrim a lot. I have logged over 75+ hours now, and I don't even feel the slightest of boredom from my first playthrough. I still feel like I have only played 2% of what the game has to offer! It's just so huge... The majority of my quests a...  more
