Game Guide blurb reveals interesting tidbits

  • The blurb for the forthcoming Skyrim Game Guide has now been posted onto Amazon. Much of it is the usual guff about how they detail every single item, the large number of maps and charts that they provide and how they have based it on hundreds of hours of play testing.

However, tucked away within the blurb are several interesting little nuggets of new - or new to me at any rate - information. These might be considered light spoilers, hence the use of the site Spoiler category.

    Here goes

    • Listed amongst the collectible items are something called 'Dragon Priest Masks'. I wonder what they'll be? Will they confer some sort of buff, or are they simply a collectible item.
    • It talks about unusual gems. Hmmm...unusual, eh? Wonder what that could mean?
    • Again, in the collectible items screed we have mention of being able to locate 'captured critters'. Does that mean that we can start our own private collection of rare animals? Anyone want to be a zoo keeper in Skyrim?
    • When it talks about vendors, there is mention of Khajiit Caravans. I'm thinking that Khajiits have set up travelling merchants, Fallout 3 style.
    • You can 'become a Thane'. What? I had to Google the word to get anywhere, and came up with intriguing stuff
    • It talks about marrying 'your favourite housecarl' - a housecarl is a Scandanavian servant or bodyguard.
    • Oh and if you get the Collectors Edition Guide you get a code to access an interactive online map....

Ok, they are only tiny details. But I love those tiny little details that make the world more immersive. And its these tiny info nugget / speculation threads that are often the most interesting :D

    Any thoughts?
