For some reason I'm always leery about going into Gaming stores. I don't know whether its the nerdy kids with hoodies trying to negotiate their 'trade in' price to eke out enough to get the latest version of Call of Duty - or the even more nerdy guys behind the counter who look like they'd die of shock if they ever had to emerge into daylight.
Either way, I prefer to get my gaming stuff online. It's invariably cheaper. You don't have to have the hassle of going to the shop. No messing about.
But that's just me.
Some people obviously love the thrill of picking the physical product off the shelf and handing over the readies to the side behind the counter. Perhaps your one of those people. Or maybe you're someone who actually works in a game store and want to stick up for the guys - and argue that, against all expectations, the staff do indeed have flourishing social lives
Then there is the phenomenon known as 'Midnight Release'. People trigging off down to some city centre game store in the dead of night just to get their shrink-wrapped copy of the hottest game a few precious hours before their slumbering friends. Are you going to such an event for Skyrim? Tell us about it.
Of course, in this digital age there's not even any actual need to have a physical product at all. The advent of Steam (and other, frankly, lesser systems) means that its now possible to download the whole thing without ever leaving the comfort of your sofa.
With Steam activation scheduled for 12.01 am in whichever Timezone you live in, there is actually no quicker way to get to play Skyrim (by which I mean legally....don't even go there!) You can pre-load Skyrim on Steam and be playing the game whilst even the guy at the Midnight Release event is fighting through the crowds, racing back to their house and installing the game.
So, what about you? How are you getting Skyrim?
Take the poll in the right sidebar, and tell us on this thread.

Personally, I pre-ordered online; it was simply the cheapest option.
