We've had plenty of discussions before - and even a poll - about the likely or desired setting forĀ Elder Scrolls VI.
But I was thinking the other day that the ground has shifted considerably with the announcement and reveals aboutĀ The Elder Scrolls Online, and I wanted to hear your views.
Up until the news aboutĀ The Elder Scrolls Online I think most of us were working under the assumption that they'd simply pick another suitable province for the next iteration. After all that's what has happened so far - OK, I know thatĀ The Elder Scrolls: ArenaĀ was the exception, but its been the case ever sinceĀ Daggerfall.Ā
And so we had a lot of fun speculating about whether they might go to somewhere like The Summerset Isles or Valenwood - or even try something really different with Elsweyr or Black Marsh. But that was before we learned that the whole continent of Tamriel will be rendered inĀ The Elder Scrolls Online.Ā Bluntly, by the time they start seriously thinking aboutĀ The Elder Scrolls VI we will have had chance to visit every province on the mainland of Tamriel!
Does this change things? I think it might. All of a sudden, the sheer excitement of pitching up in an entirely unvisited and unexplored province will have gone. For example, if they decided to set the next game in Valenwood (the winner of our last poll on this topic) it would hardly seem all that fresh, since we'll have had ample chance to explore itĀ The Elder Scrolls Online
So what will Bethesda do to make usĀ Elder ScrollsĀ fans salivate overĀ Elder Scrolls VI?Ā That's what I want to talk about this weekend - and we've got a poll running too. In the poll I have listed what I think are the most viable and obvious options for the direction that they might take.
OK then. Vote in the poll and share your views on this thread
