Contributing to The Skyrim Blog

    A few weeks ago, when we were talking about whether The Skyrim Blog would continue, I mentioned that my changed family circumstances meant that I was no longer able to fund the running of this site out of my own pocket.

    To help towards costs, I installed the Ning donate and, in the immediate aftermath, we had a small number of very welcome contributions. Thanks guys. Your efforts have kept the site online for the last two months. Unfortunately, however, the donations dried up and I'm going to have to take a more 'in your face' approach...

    You will now see a new Donate box in the sidebar on the right. In this box we have the total amount of that it will cost to keep this site online until the New Year - basically its $300... or just under £200 for those of us who use 'proper money' 

    That's the amount that I need site members to contribute over the next 6 months. When you consider that we have approaching 2500 members that's not exactly a big ask, is it? As people make donations the 'thermometer' will gradually fill up and - I promise - that once the bar fills up to the total, I'll remove the box, since I don't want to 'make money' from the site.

    You can donate any amount, however small, and it will go directly into my Paypal account. I hope that you'll consider chipping in even a small amount. Remember if everyone gives a little, then the total will soon be reached.

    wish I could contribute but economy is bad and parents wont even let me donate my own money sorry dude :(

    The other things I should probably make clear is that this widget doesn't take any account of the people who already contributed when we had the old donate app.

    Aha, I've got it working now, seems I needed to restart my browser
    Probably something to do with cookies! Anyway, seems like it is working fine now... and thanks for the donations so far - keep 'em coming :)

    It works fine for me, there have been 2 donations showing up for quite a while now.

    Hmmm.it seems we have a glitch with the widget
