I thought Wulfhart was a Shezarrine but not a Dragonborn... Did I miss something maybe? There did you read that?

    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ysmir

He is called Dragon of the North as is Tiber Septim and the Last Dragonborn.

It's complicated, but Phil says it below.

Wait, why does Hjalti need Ysmir Wulfharth to help him shout if he's Dragonborn? Again it's down to my interpretation but the primary difference between the Dragonborn of the Nordic myths and the Dragonborn of the Cyrodiils is the absence of dragon souls. If there are no dragons for Hjalti to slay and absorb he needs to learn shouts the hard way - through Wulfharth. In a sense he is taking in both the shout and a little bit of Ysmir with each word he learns.

You sort of have to be okay with the Kirbride stuff. I am, others are, some others are not. Depends.

When you speak to Jarl Balgruuf in Whiterun he says

"Wulfharth was Dragonborn, Talos too back in good old days"

(Makes him sound like one of those guys that say "Everything was cool in the 90's!" doesn't it? XD)

It might not prove it, but it is what I strongly believe.

I think that only a part of Kirkbride's stuff makes sence.

From this I see only that Wulfhart seemingly knew how to shout and passed his knowledge to Hjalti. That doesn't make him a Dragonborn. The Greybeards can teach you shouts, and from how they do that, I totally can see Wulfhart doing the same with Hjalti, and none of the Greybeards is a Dragonborn.

I'm not sure whether the title of Ysmir means a Dragonborn, I have a feeling that although those two things coinside in several cases, they are not actually the same.

Wait, since when did Hermy Mora appeared in the Dawnguard questline? Unless if you're talking about giving Septimus the cube once you've returned.

I doubt Jarl Balgruuf's authority in such a question. He is probably telling what was a common belief at some point, which might not be true.

I suppose, but who knows really? He was certainly had a powerful thu'um though, since he couldn't swear oaths without things blowing up xD

That too sounds just like the Greybeards to me. Remember why Arngeir is the only one who talks to you? And neither Hjalti nor the LDB don't seem to have such a problem...

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. You need all three scrolls in the Dawnguard questline to read the prophesy. Hermaeus Mora is a presence in locating one of them. Yes, that's what I'm talking about. It's indirect, but still a presence, and also we have to remember, Mora and Auri-El both shared Xarxes, who served as scribe to both entities. And you're running around getting scrolls, and roaming libraries, how very scribey of our little LDB.

Xarxes was definitely a smart guy, he chose the most perfect conpany)))
