So VATs....is it just me or is it way less accurate than just aiming?  Even with 70+% I miss a lot it seems in VATs but if I sight aim with a scope I can tag the enemy mercilessly, just not in slow-mo.

Oh, and any workaround (besides standing up and breaking stealth) for the "disappearing Pip-boy when wearing Chameleon gear?

Hmm - usually with even a little bit of PER, VATs accuracy is what it is...meaning if you target a body part and it says 95, you'll hit it 95% of the time. The exception is if the target is moving and something like a wall interferes with the shot. But also, targeting outside of VATs is pretty easy, minus fast movers using a long scope.

As for the disappearing pip boy screen - not that I know of. annoying nuance for sure

anyone have any tips for using automatic weapons?  rifles in particular?  Definitely go through ammo.  Not sure they do any more or less damage either.

And for discussion, is VATs a "must have" when using full auto weapons?

No - to your second part. In fact, I specifically went with a commando / no vats playthrough to cleanse my palate from a heavy vats sniper play through.

The thing with autos is that it's harder early on, and can be OP later on. Let me explain.

The auto pipe pistols you'll be stuck with in the first 8 or so levels suck.

But, if you can get to the Vaulth where Valentine is, you can snag a decent submachine and tons of .45 ammo. Especially if you've wisely perked scrounger.

Stick with this until you procure a combat rifle, etc.

But the real fun of going commmando (see what I did there?) is pairing autos with demo expert - as featured in The Anarchist.

Spray n Pray and Kiloton rifles benefit from the area effects of each when adding demo expert. And they get insanely powerful and fun. Sadly, the other awesome gun December's Child (Far harbor) runs on 5.56 which just isn't common enough to be viable (though you can mod it down to .45).

Lastly, Nuka World brought us the ridiculous Problem Solver and Splatter Cannon, both which have the Furious legendary mod. When paired with Auto - they escalate damage in every consecutive hit!

Basically it comes down to finding special weapons :)

I should add, that this is one of the few playthrough/builds that I periodically go back and play for a few hours...it's an absolute blast to run around and annihilate everything, no Vats, no sneak, just explosive automatics unloading on everything :)

Is there any perk that functions like Medic but for food?

No but there is an issue of wasteland mag that boosts healing from food 50%

I'll have to find that one.  That would fit in with Lobo real well.

Separate question: PC version, does anyone use the Fallout Script extender (like they have for Skyrim)?  How does it interact/work with Steam?  I know for Skyrim I had to load the game from a separate shortcut link and not the Steam launcher.

How possible/far out there would it be to have a build in which the player  wakes up from cryogenic stasis and thinks he's on a new planet? I feel like a galactic explorer themed build would be cool what with all the robots, lasers, and the very planet like landscape due to the atomic bomb. Could be like No Mans Sky in which you explore all the flora and fauna of this new planet. Hell, there's even an alien blaster pistol. In my head it seemed really cool but typiging it out it sounds kinda out there XD Any insight or advice would be great

I think it is defiantly possible that the cryo freeze could have scrambled a few of your brain circuits during the freezing and unfreezing process to make you believe all sorts of crazy things...

Thats what I was thinking. Do you think just avoiding downtown Boston and big groups of people in general is enough to avoid having the crazy space traveler roleplay from being broken by certain diologue? Like hearing about all the "before the war" stuff would break the immersion I think. Maybe just stick primarily to wandering the Glowing sea and other isolated parts of the map
