Scaring on parts of his body that can be easily covered by clothing would work just as well. If we want him to stand out as little as possible then having him look like your average imperial would be best. Tan/olive skin, dark hair, brown or maybe even green eyes. If he does have some distinguishing feature, maybe he has learnt of some way to disguise himself either through actual disguises or magic of some kind (Illusion or a basic level of the Face Sculptor's arts).

This is starting to sound eerily similar to another profile I've been working on... Right, who's been hacking my computer? :P

I feel like the face-sculptor option is less utilised, and I bet we could fit it into the character in other ways as well - maybe he needs to change the appearance of the people he saves to make their escape easier? If he was involved in the clean up of the Imperial City as well (or just a medic) he'd interact with people brutally scarred by the war, picking up a few ways to make people look better while helping them isn't unplausable.

    Alright, sounds good to me.

Shall we get to the write up now? Taking stock of what we've done and what we haven't is probably useful, and because I can't think of what else we need right now.

I don't see why we can't, I can do it or do you want to?

I've updated it with what we have so far (and a couple of little things like the name of the legion he was a member of if we decide to go with that). I just copied the categories from one of my Profiles, so we don't have to use them all or we could even add more if we want.

Well going down the list, age and body proportions are up next.

The sacking of the Imperial City was in 4E 174 I believe, so 50s? It seems like the age where someone would still be physically capable of doing daring missions and stuff, although he won't be in combat or moving fast generally so he could always be older. Also, a grey-haired badass with nothing to lose sounds awesome.

Keeping with the idea that he shouldn't stick out of the crowd too much, I'm thinking short - average height? Being smaller means he's better at sneaking, which even a mock assassin probably needs, and we could work into the backstory that his diminutive height was the reason he survived the Thalmor (knocked unconscious by someone's elbow in a fight, ignored because he was deemed as not a threat, his commanding officer sent him to a place where the fighting was light because he didn't look capable etc). Age would also make him smaller regardless, so I'm hovering around the 5'6"-7" ranger. And again as he needs to be able to hide easily in his profession, I'm thinking skinny and quite slight, with the same justifications as height. Plus maybe he's one of those zealots who starves himself to better serve his god - life and death take priority over fancy foods and luxuries.

He should definetly have grey/ing hair and we don't want to make him too thin otherwise he'd stand out just as much as if he were realy big.

He'd be roughly the same age as Ulfric and Galmar if that helps in terms of how well he can move around (considering the two of them fought in the Great War and probably started around 20 or so). I don't think he'd be weak or anything, maybe if anything a little lower on stamina but I think he'd still be able to move around at a good pace.

I just agree with you and Golden. That height sounds good but I think it might be best to just stick him at average weight rather than making him stand out. I assume he'd either be wearing Leather (something simple and fairly common even amongst regular people) Armour or clothes, and both of those would make any extreme stick out like a sore thumb.
