They are. We should get back to the actual build discussion to stay out of trouble.

Actually, from just a role play perspective, the Lady Stone works.

She's Shor's Widow. The mother goddess. Shor is the Lord of Mundus, Kyne would be his Lady. Health and stamina regen buffs aren't hurting the mechanics of the build either.

+1 Like. I don't give these out often, but you earned it.

Simplicity is genius and this is both of those. Even if the opening kind of sounded like a conspiracy theory with all those nines but it really is genius.

An easy like from me Paul and I can't wait to see your next one, if we're getting a new one (And we better )

    Thanks, Tom.

I think I had planned to give the Lady stone to the Hawk totem, but swapped it to the Wolf totem pretty recently.  The Lady's regeneration seems to fit with a wolf's endurance, plus the Mara connection.  I can see it going to the Hawk, though, especially for the mechanics you mentioned.  Health was rarely a problem if I just wanted to kill stuff, since it's pretty easy to kite - but when you *want* to get hit (to train Light Armor), a faster Health regen would sure have been nice!

I tend to see Mara as more of the mother goddess (probably due to the Romulus/Remus thing, along with some other references to Mara being a mother figure), whereas sometimes I think of Kyne as the crazy old crone whose husband has been dead forever.  She can be sweet and kind, but suddenly she can just fly off the handle, whipping up a storm for no apparent reason.  (Plus, having Kyne as an 'old woman' fits the maiden-mother-crone paradigm that we could slap on to Dibella-Mara-Kyne.)

Again, though, I could easily be missing something that suggests Kyne is a strong mother-figure. Don't hesitate to let me know - I always like learning more about this lore.

Hehe, well, TES seems pretty reliant upon number symbolism, so I figured all the nines (or 8+1s) couldn't be a coincidence!

And there will definitely be more.  I've just about finished playtesting another totem, and have just started a playthrough of a third.  The builds are essentially done, and most of the writing is done, too - now it's just a matter of me playing the things.  We'll see if I can maintain a decent clip.

You had my like at the opening - it is that good. You really are amazing when it comes to weaving lore into your builds. I wish I could like your profile for that

That said, the build itself is amazing as well, as could be expected of one of yours. There's just the right amount of everything - save perhaps for something more for the character to do at later levels. Perhaps the next ones could have some more quest options for later levels?

At any rate, you have me hyped up for the rest too! Keep them coming

First of NINE? You'll have your work cut out for you mate. :D

Awesome build btw, +1! Looking forward on how the others are gonna turn out. I assume not all of them are gonna be fighters. Mara (I forgot the nordic equivalent) for instance is not a warrior. There's bound to be a whole lot of classes for them.

I'm particularly interested on how Dragon would work out. It'll be a bit tricky for the World-Eater to be confronted by a guy who uses his own powers. :D

    Thanks!

Yes, higher-level stuff is often a challenge for me.  Few of my characters make it into the 30s, let alone the 40s.  I see this character as all about hunting and exploring - it's kind of freeing to have a character where you're not trying to do lots of different questlines.

That said, some of the other totems will have higher level content practically as a requirement (due to the gear/abilities I want them to have), and will pursue several questlines.

Heh, you're telling me!  We'll see how much playing I can cram into my schedule in the next several weeks... we picked a bad week to start potty training the kids!

AFAIK, "Mara" is the name for both the Imperial and Nordic goddess.  I've spent a lot of time thinking about which 2 primary skills are the best fit for each totem - and how each totem may (or may not) relate to the Divines or the Nordic Pantheon.  Because I don't want to have primary skills repeated among builds, they will all be a bit different.  One of my challenges was coming up with 9 different skills that could be considered a main way of dealing with enemies.  So that took a bit of thought, and we'll see how it works out in the end.

But yes, not all of them will be warriors.  The Hawk happens to have its 2 primary skills in combat-related stuff (archery, light armor).  But some will have to be more creative.  There are magic-users, scoundrels, warriors, and dabblers among the totem builds I've got planned.

As for the Dragon, that will be the final build.  I'm curious how it will play out myself!

This is one of the first builds in a long time that made me actually want to read every word of it. Great job! +1

This build also surprised me with its synergy through eccentricity. I wasn't sure when I saw dual-wield, bow, lightning spells how it would work.

You may have just enticed me to reinstall Skyrim again.
