The New Life Festival is upon us!

We're wrapping up an exciting year in Tamriel by celebrating the New Life Festival! This event is filled with quests that take you across different zones, and you have a chance to obtain fun and festive rewards.

The New Life Festival kicks off this Thursday, December 15 at 10:00am EST. Before you can partake in the festivities, you'll need to track down Breda outside Windhelm for your first quest simply titled “The New Life Festival." Once you complete her requests, you'll have the opportunity to complete up to nine different daily quests, each themed for Tamriel's different races and located in their respective zones. These include:

    - Castle Charm (Breton)

    - Fish Boon Feast (Argonian)

    - Lava Foot Stomp (Dunmer)

    - Mud Ball Merriment (Bosmer)

    - Signal Fire Sprint (Redguard)

    - Snow Bear Plunge (Nord)

    - Stonetooth Bash (Orc)

    - The Trial of Five-Clawed Guile (Khajiit)

    - War Oprhan's Sojourn (Altmer)

Upon completion of each quest, you'll be given a New Life Gift Box which contains a random assortment of New Life Festival-themed goodies. Each New Life Gift Box will always contain:

    - A random crafting material (Provisioning ingredient, Alchemy reagent, or Health glyph)

    - A consumable version of a New Life-themed Memento)

    - A Skinchanger style item (Wolfsbane Incense)

In addition, you will also receive one of the following:

    - A Skinchanger Motif chapter

    - A New Life recipe of either green, blue, or gold-quality

    - A special New Life Collectible:

               - Mud Ball Pouch (Memento)
               - Nordic Bather's Towel (costume)
               - Colovian Filigreed Hood (Hat)
               - Colovian Fur Hood (Hat)

If you're able to complete all the quests that Breda has for you, you'll receive a special new dye – New Life Cerulean – and the New Life Celebrant achievement. Completing all the New Life-related achievements will grant the “Magnanimous" title as well! In addition, drinking Breda's Magnificent Mead (located in a keg near Breda) will net you double XP for two hours. Be sure and complete each quest before the New Life Festival concludes on Wednesday, January 4 at 10am EST.

I knew someone was going to jump on that! Combine Breda's mead with the drunk personality appearance - what a combo!

Hehehe, alright... :D But I was wondering how many times I can use the experience boost? For the whole duration of the event?

From my understanding, it will be just like the last two festivals (Witches' Festival and the Anniversary Festival). You can reapply the XP item whenever it runs out.

By the way, by Drunk Personality, I was referring to the crown store personality you can purchase for your toon. Whenever your character stands idle, he/she pulls out a mug, drinks, and wobbles around for a while.

Just tab over to Style Parlor and scroll down.

With all these festivals and XP boosting events, I'm really tempted to start a new character. So, what's it going to be:

    Magicka Nightblade
    Magicka Dragonknight
    Stamina Templar

That's precisely why I'm asking. I recently started Dragonknight Healer, so I might push it through few levels. And by now, you're probably wondering why another healer...Well, what can I say, I'm trying what will suit me best out of the three classes that don't have Healing Skill Tree. So far NB is still winning over Sorc for some reason, even while Sorc has the advantage of Twilight Matriarch. DK is actually quite good too, really looking forward to Inferno, which should allow me to get the crit chance over 50%. Only problem is the Magicka Management. How in the name of Mara's flapping tits DKs restore Magicka? Equilibrium?

I personally believe that mDKs will see the biggest balancing adjustment in the next patch. They suffer from two main areas, resource management AND mobility. For low level mDKs, resource management can only be realistically achieved through crafted sets (i.e., Seducer's and Magnus' Gift). As you learn how to play the class skillfully, it gets a little easier, but not much. For instance, using the destruction staff abilities, Impulse and Elemental Drain, will help. Also, the Battle Roar passive will help generate Ultimate faster, which should give you time to recover magicka while you use the Ulti.  Once you hit lvl 50, however, you can start assigning CPs to help (i.e. Magician and Arcanist).

Mobility is a major issue in PvP. mDKs have no gap closer or class access to Major Expedition (like the sorc's Streak). For these reasons, if I were to PvP on a mDK, I'd have to be a Vampire for Mist Form.

EDIT: I have Inferno on my StamDk. That, plus a few other things, brings my crit to 62%!!!!

I despise the Matriarch for the sheer fact that it dies so quickly and your group has to be in a certain range for it to heal.
