I assumed he was. I don't know what you mean by worthy vessel though. Dragonsouls absorb other dragonsouls when the other is defeated. It's the fractions of Aka merging back again into an increasingly complete whole again. The question is how Jurgen's dragonsoul remained in his tomb.

M'aiq was correct. Dragons never left. They're just invisible and very, very quiet.

"Worthy vessel" was poor wording on my behalf, I was sure what else to say.

    I think it's probable.

Hi all, I know this is an obscure question but I'm looking for serious lore buffs that may have information on Korvanjund. Yes, I know it's where you find the Jagged Crown and it's a Barrow filled with Draugr. But there is some reference that at one time it was a fortified town of some sort. If that was the case, when was it founded and when approximately did it fall to ruin? Why you ask? Ok, ancient tomb with only the most revered relic for Leadership in all of Skyrim is hiding here. It doesn't completely pan out for me. That is unless, Korvanjund had some sort of significance in previous eras. It is apparent that the crown was lost some time ago and that with it, holding a Moot to crown a new High King in Skyrim is all but a done deal. So, did Korvanjund have some sort of significance in the past? Why did the crown eventually end up there guarded by the Draugr? Any known reference work or logically pieced together information would be greatly appreciated, thanks for any and all assistance!!!

.Literally the only source I found mentioning it at all outside of the Civil War quest is Holdings of Jarl Gjalund, which is just a list of territorial holdings of a First Era Jarl. There is no other specifics.

Borgas was the last king of Ysgramor's line, and the last king to wear the Jagged Crown. He was also an Alessian fanatic who banned the old pantheon of the Nords, supported the Prophet Most Simian, and lead an army to force the Bosmer into follow the Alessian doctrines.

To say the very least, he was not well liked. So when he died, his supporters returned his body in secret and interred it.

My speculation: His followers did this to keep his resting place safe, and to deny anyone else chosen by the Moot from having Ysgramor's crown. His death sparked a war of succession before Wulfharth (yes, that Wulfharth) to becoming High King and violently reinstating the traditional Nordic pantheon.

I'm not sure if it's confirmed or not, but I can't make sense of draugr unless it's just a burial practice of the Nords. Look in modern tombs and you'll see the same equipment. The Nords really care about how the dead are taken care of. They preserved the dead before and after the Dragons ruled them. What raises the Draugr, I haven't a clue, but I'm guessing it's because they never worshipped Arkay (until within the last 200 years) or performed any true burial rites to prevent the dead from rising.

Tom, Thank you very much for the reply. This helps me flesh out some questions I had concerning the opening chapters of the Civil War 4th era. Since I've been working on a story directly dealing with The Skyrim Civil war, your insight is useful. Your reasoning seems most plausible given the lack of information.  I'm a bit confused on one point as I was trying to find information. If indeed the draugr in Korvanjund was Borgas, and the town itself disappeared with only the crypt remaining, is it possible that the town itself fell during the last run of dragons? There is a theaory that some of the towns where barrows exist were razed by dragons a few hundred years before. Your thoughts? If nothing else, your insight at least gives plausible reason for Rikke and Galmor to have found knowledge of the Barrow at what once was Korvanjund,. OH! And thanks for the quick reply! It made my day!

I doubt it. The Dragon War was in the late Merethic, and Korvanjund was still around by the second century First Era at the least when it was listed as a territory of the jarl.

Ok, rules that theory out, the curious side in me wonders what might have actually happened. Of course time itself may have been the culprit. Less dramatic but perhaps more plausible. Thanks again for the input.

Ok I'm pretty much asking for monkey truth at this point beacuse I'm sure there isn't any actual answers to these questions but here goes?

Does anybody know what the Morag Tong seal is meant to be? Albino ventured that it might be a spider and it does kind of look like a spider rearing up. If nobody actually knows I might just go with that.

Also I'm looking for a Morag Tong motto or saying, if there isn't one can you think of any good quotes from the game? It can be from the Morag Tong or about Mephala. The only one I can think of is "there is no difference between the theorist and the terrorist".

Next question is do we know what the Camonna in Camonna Tong means? I know Morag Tong means Foresters Guild so Camonna Tong must mean "something" guild. In Morrowind one of them mentions that they are a society or businessmen so maybe it's something like Merchant Guild?

Last one is a any mottos or sayings for the Camonna Tong? A good quote from Grasping Fortunes is "Dead men can't bargain". I might use that if nobody knows any.
