You can 'confuse' a lot of enemies by using your taunt (Puncture/Inner Fire) and then turning invisible. In my experience they tend to just sit there - they're forced to attack you due to the taunt but don't know where you are!
Siphoning Strikes is an amazing tank ability, restoring 4% of your Health, Magicka and Stamina per strike (though it slightly reduces your damage). This takes pressure off of your healer and gives you plenty of resources to use for CC abilities like Aspect of Terror and to move around quickly and taunt mobs off of the rest of the party. It combines very well with the Shadow ultimate, which reduces incoming damage by 60%, allowing you to effectively heal up by spamming light attacks. Increasing your attack speed with Medium Armor perks and the Haste ability would also increase the effectiveness of this strategy.
