Welcome, Tippers and Trickers, to the Tips & Tricks Field Test! In this activity developed by Ponty and I, you will be given a small challenge with a few restrictions. Then it’s up to you to decide how best to complete it, and post your methods here!

This time around, we'll be facing the Dungeon Run challenge.

Objective: Make your way through the Sightless Pit dungeon, on at least Master difficulty, in as little time as possible (starting from the moment you enter the dungeon).

    Restrictions:

    • Time ends when the boss-level Falmer enemy at the end of the final zone is dead. You are not required to kill any other enemies.
    • You may not use any infinite sprint glitches (e.g., the torch one).
    • You may not enter Beast Form or Vampire Lord form.
    • If you die at any point, you must restart from the beginning of the dungeon.

    When you’re done, post up

    • The time it took you, from when you entered the underground ruin
    • Any methods you used
    • Any particular parts you had difficulty with.

Remember to keep it informative – the purpose of the Field Test is for people to discover new and creative ways of doing things and sharing them with the community!

And something new, to make things a bit more interesting: Whoever completes the challenge with the fastest time, and posts a reasonable writeup on their experience, will get some input on the next Field Test challenge if you so desire.

Hey guys, sorry it took so long for this to come out. I hope you like the challenge this time!

We plan on having a new featured discussion this Tuesday as well. I know it's been a little while since the last one, so I thought people would like to know it's on the agenda.

I don't see why not, but you do have to kill the boss-level Falmer at the end of the dungeon, even if you let everyone else live. And I don't think you can calm him to death.

This would be so fun to do! Except I'm away from my computer :(

It'll be up for at least a week, possibly as long as a month. The first one was up for a month, but I think that was too long. Two weeks is probably what we're aiming for this time. I'll post a closing date when I figure out exactly when that will be. Probably depending on how many people express interest.

Even if you are unable to give it a shot, we'd love to hear your ideas. But if you think you might get a chance to try it out for yourself, maybe you want to keep your method a secret.

Ah, the Sightless Pit... The Chaurus and a Falmer near a dwemer corridor in the second zone will be a pain... Are there any restrictions on skill levels etc.?

There are at least a few different ways of avoiding combat with any enemy up to the final boss falmer. I've been working on two builds and haven't put my own idea to the test yet, but I'm pretty sure it will work. If people run into trouble, I have a couple of emergency backup dungeons in mind. I like Sightless Pit because, for me at least, it's a pretty cool dungeon that's really easy to overlook, and it's not quest locked.

The only restrictions are the ones listed. Pending any incoming reports from people who try the challenge, I am open to altering the challenge a bit if need be.

I'll give it a go on my highest level character (level 70)

Sneak, bro. Sneak. Not killing anything but the boss? Sneak roll to him. + Archery.

Lame-ass Sneak Archery beats everything. Kinda sucks really.

Still probably takes a while aswell, though.

EDIT: P.S I love sneak archery :PP
