xbox 360 textures issue Which is correct?

  • Ok this site here says that skyrim will run higher textures if installed to the xbox HD.  Now here on the skyrim blog one blog post (sorry i don't have the link) says that the textures are highers running from the disk not the HD and so does a user who commented to a reply to the website i linked.

My question is who is right? And is there any offical or trustworthy sources to back up which is which?

I did a little reading on forums and stuff and I read on a forum that it's a caching issue when you run from the HDD. If you Dashboard > Memory > Deveice Details > "Y" To clear cache it sorts it. From what I can tell Skyrim uses pretty much the w...  more

I believe the patch that Bethesda are releasing is to fix some quest issues and minor stability issues (Which could be just about anything...)
And Tyler, installing the game has no effect whatsoever on saves. If I remember correctly, installation of...  more

I've been scouring the net all day after reading that exact same article for news on this issue. I will be playing on 360 also. I intend to start the game up and play for a couple minutes, to get a feel for what it looks like just off of the disk, then sa...  more

I've seen this link. No - installing the game should make the game run faster and have better textures so don't worry. Just make sure you have some room for Skyrim.

That's what they are saying. Installing will decrease textures. Running from the disk will not.
The patch that is released on the first day will sort this issue.

Wait so basically you are all saying installing it on the xbox will make the textures worse? I feel like this doesn't make sense because you still need the disc in the drive to run the game. Oh well I hope this isn't so and if it is I hope they fix it soo...  more

    Gavin.
Fix your ill informed article, now.
The problem arises when you INSTALL the game on your Xbox, not when you run it off the disk. The article is rife with incor...  more

Don't know if the cause has been confirmed to be what you describe or not, but in the Q&A section someone confirmed that the initial X360 patch on release day would fix this issue.

As long as if it IS installed it runs at its best for a console, then I will be happy.
