Freya - Leaving Camp, The Stormcloaks

  • So I spent a nice few peaceful days just clearing my mind about what happened. It was very quiet near my camp which was good, I was not in the mood for any human contact, and especially not any mer contact. I suppose I was raised as a nationalist, when you're out in the wilds with just your parents, who are obviously the same race as you, it's rare to see anyone else. We would sometimes come across wanderers out in the wilds and sometimes the Khajiit travelling caravans, they were interesting, I got on quite well with them. Anyway, about the last couple of days.

I hunted a few deer, skinned them for their fur which I plan on weaving it into my current hides for some added protection. I spotted a small bandit camp to the south of my position, I don't think they saw me, I'm not looking for any trouble. I cooked the venison in my pot I had at camp, it was a bit dry... I poored wine into it and it tasted... It filled me up, lets just say that. I crashed out under the stars and thought about what I could do, I currently have no purpose.

I was woken up in the morning by a giant roar. I looked around and above I spotted a dragon flying away in the distance. I was shocked to say the least. The first thing on my mind was the bandits would come up and investigate. I decided I was either going to be hunted, or be the hunter. It was an easy choice for me.

I positioned myself atop a rock and planned out how this would go in my head, I used my knowledge of hunting and applied it to how to kill these humanoids. A deer is fast, therefore I always take out its legs, therefore for I should injure the lightly amoured bandit. For the archer I should try and impair his vision so he cannot hit me, just like a spirggan. For the heavily armoured warrior... I'll figure that out when I need to.

I laid down three arrows next to myself so I could quickly access them when I needed to, I then pulled one out of my quiver, nocked it, and let it fly. It perfectly pierced his leg and looked like it was poking out the other side of his calf. As the archer was pulling her bow off of her back, I already had my arrow flying towards her and she didn't even realise it. Let's just say that she never did draw her bow. There was now a heavily armoured bandit, who had located my position, charging down on me. I knocked my last arrow from the floor next to me and managed to shoot my arrow through a gap in his shoulder-plate and penetrate his shoulder, by the looks of it hitting a bone. As he reached within several yards of me he lunged at me with his mace which I easily dodged, he was knackered, out of breath and just fell on the floor.

"I'll let you live," I whispered in his ear, whilst taking his helmet off his head.

"I wouldn't do the same for you," he gasped under his breath.

"I don't blame you, I just murdered your friends."

    "We're just trying to survive."

    "So am I."

    "I feel sleepy."

"It's time for you to sleep now."

I then walked five yards, picked up a sizely rock, and smashed it round his head, knocking him unconscious for several hours. I strolled down to their camp where there was still the remaining bandit screaming whilst trying to get the arrow out of his leg.

"Shhh, I'll get it out if you don't harm me," I told him in my softest voice.

"Fuck you! How old are you bitch?" He shouted at me, with saliva coming out of his mouth.

"17, do you want to know an interesting fact?"

    "Surprise me shit-head."

"You're about to get killed by someone who's young enough to me your daughter."

I began to pick up his large two handed warhammer. It was a struggle but I managed it.

"Wait... You don't want to do that, no... Please put that down."

It was only polite to let him finish his sentence before I put his hammer round his face. As it hit him round his face it flew out of my hands and scrapped him along the ground.

Now that they had been dealt with I decided I should investigate where that dragon came from, see if anyone was alive up there, I don't want anymore people to end up like me. I came across a gave that was within a stones throw of my camp, I can't believe I hadn't spotted it, slightly worrying thought. I went inside and saw a man lying on the floor ahead of me, I ran up to him to see if he was ok. He acted like he had seen me before, I whipped a potion out of my pack and then poured it down his throat. It took several seconds to effect him but once it had he was up, at that moment the cave began to fall down, we bolted for the exit and made it out, barely.

He introduced himself as Ralof, he told me about how Skyrim was in a state of war, this was a massive shock to me. I thought the imperials were here to fend of the Thalmor. Wow. He invited me join his cause. I thought it would be a bad idea at the moment however, considering I am still very inexperienced when it comes to fighting humanoids.

We soon arrived in a small town called Riverwood, Ralof introduced me to his sister, Gerdur, she seemed very pleasant and gave me some food as I told her I had been through a lot recently, she didn't ask me what happened which I was glad about. She pointed me in the direction of the general merchant, she said I could off-load my junk there for some coin, sounds good to me. I met Lucan the merchant, he seemed a bit... Dodgy, if you ask me. However he did offer me a job which he said I would be rewarded with a hefty sum of coin, this sounded appealing, all I had to do was go through an ancient crypt chasing some bandits who had stolen something, what could possibly go wrong?

I spent several hours weaving the hides into my hood to make it more resistant to the cold, it had a slightly cold look to it as well, seems fitting. I then spent the evening in the inn mixing some potions and sipping on wine, it went to my head rather fast and I slipped whilst making a few potions. I then spent the rest of the evening writing this. Off to Gerdur's house now to catch some sleep.

    Talos guide you.

This is my new hood. What do you think?

Ahh it's great I find, however sometimes I feel the need to have the same Helgen start and it gives that option which I find great.
