Journal of Sikah; The Hunted Hunter Strikes Back

  • Day: unknown Date: unknown

I stare at those two words and it makes me want to weep.

I had finally made it down the mountain last night. The trees are now dried and brittle and I am in awe at the force it took to snap them like twigs. I immediately began scouring the ground looking for any signs that Markius had survived I was at it for hours and began to fret when it the first of the snow began to fall then just as it was getting dark I spotted it. A single foot print! It wasn’t much but it was enough to get me moving again I followed it and the small trail leading away from the sight as best I could only stopping when I feared I would miss something because there was no light.

I have been tracking Markius for a while now and seem to have lost track of time, my focus has narrowed and I have had little to no patience for anyone that happens to cross my path. The presence I had felt when attacked by the dragon has gone dormant, I am truly alone. I think that’s why I started writing this journal for someone to talk to if only it would be some future person to stumble across this ramblings as I loose what’s left of my mind.

    Day: unknown Date: unknown

I am now well and truly lost.

I’ve tried using the tracking skills taught to me by my Markius but it is hopeless is this blinding blizzard that has come on me. I now find myself in a deep valley, it is cold and the snow is deep. This small cave I found has little in the way of shelter and the wind is biting. I miss Riften for all the dog dung of a place it was. At least there I knew where to go who to avoid and there was always an unobservant vendor to steal from, most of all there was Markius.

Soldiers! In armour I am not familiar with but they seem to know where they are heading, best of all they would have food, as the game has been scarce. I’m going to go track them.

    ????      ?????

Day: Morndas Date: 17th of Last Seed

I remember not the days after I decided to track the soldiers, the time seems to blur. But I remember what happened today and how it has changed everything.

I woke to find myself in the back of a carriage with the soldiers, at first I thought they had found me, until I noticed my hands were bound and so were theirs they seemed to be under the impression that I was trying to cross the border. I didn’t even know I was close to the border. I tuned out what they were saying as I noticed we were approaching a settlement, Helgen I think one of the men called it. I was in awe to see it as the only other place I have known was Riften. It wasn’t until we were getting off that I began paying closer attention…this was no trial, execution!! I watched as one of the men was beheaded and knew no matter what I said I was to share his fate. Damn these wars, Markius always told me I should pay better attention to what people were saying instead of pricing what they were wearing.

I loathe calling what happened next a miracle it was more like fate. The blasted Dragon showed up just as my head was about to roll. He had somehow removed the sword, but it was him. I’ll never forget that beast. The following events were chaos. Men dying, people screaming, flames and rubble everywhere, I was following the Stormcloak one moment and an imperial the next. Eventually I found myself inside the keep with the Stormcloak who called himself Ralof. He broke my bonds and we then proceeded to fight our way out of Helgen, Imperials falling first beneath my claws and then shot from afar as I got my hands on a bow.

At last we had reached daylight! The view was so vast it almost staggered me in my tracks, I knew Skyrim to be a huge land, some say as big as Cyrodiil but words on a page and actually seeing it are two totally different things.

Ralof and I travelled to a town called Riverwood where he apparently has family that are willing to shelter us. Ralof asked if I wanted to join the Stormcloaks but I am not sure I really just want to be on my way to find Markius.

Well the night is drawing in and I am getting tired, tomorrow I must travel to the city of Whiterun to tell the Jarl about the Dragon attack, perhaps he can help me find Markius….

I love the transition from being lost in the mountains to the beginning of the game. I did not know you were going to go that direction from reading the previous parts of the story. You really should finish this!
