Last weekend's poll asked which of Skyrim's five main cities was your personal favourite. Just over 1500 people cast a vote, and this was the result
The result proved to be a comprehensive win for the city of Whiterun, taking just under half of the votes. Why? Well, it can't be a total co-incidence that Whiterun tends to be the first city that we visit when playing the game. In addition it has a central location, a reasonable climate (its not snowing all the time like in Windhelm!) and has pretty well everything needed.
It's perfectly possible to 'settle' in Whiterun. Breezehome makes a decent base for a campaign around the province of Skyrim, and there are all the various shops, an inn, a chapel, a market and a friendly local population. Perfect.
The balance of the votes were relatively evenly distributed, with Solitude slipping into second place narrowly from Markath and Riften. Down at the foot of the poll we had Windhelm with just 9% of the poll. Not surprising to me, as Bethesda seem to have gone out of their way to make Windhelm feel sparse and 'gritty' for plot purposes.
Any surprises here - or pretty much what you would have expected from this poll?
