Halted Stream Camp, Joe's Dungeon Guide Part 6

  •  Dungeon: Halted Stream Camp

     Set-Up:

    • Melee:Steel Battleaxe of Bitter Cold
    • Magic School: Conjuration and Restoration
    • Ranged: Ancient Nord Bow of Bitter Cold with Steel Arrows
    • Armor: Iron Helmet(Fine), Iron Boots(Fine), Steel Armor(Fine), Steel Imperial Gauntlets(Fine), Silver Ring(+24 Magicka)
    • Companion: Faendal: Imperial Light Armor, Iron Helmet, Iron Boots, Iron Gauntlets, Ancient Nord Greatsword, Hunting Bow with Iron Arrows

     First Thoughts:

    • I was assigned to this "dungeon" to find Amren's Family Sword.
    • This is another two-part "dungeon" with the first being outside and the second inside Halted Stream Camp Mine.
    • Because this is a walled encampment my guess is there will be more enemies. I'm also guessing that these enemies will be tougher.

Note1: The mine is packed with Iron Ore

Note2: The Poacher's Axe can be upgraded with Steel Ingots

Note3: This is a good place to grab Mammoth Tusks for Ysolda

Note5: There are a few traps in this "dungeon"

     Play-By-Play:

    • This place is so far away... should I invest in a horse or keep walking?
    • So I started running up, saw the wall, switched to my bow and sneaking... These first levels are punishing.
    • I upgraded my archery this time around, so maybe I can one shot some of these guys. Well, that didn't work at all, the bandits spotted me.
    • Faendal and I dispatched them with ease... including the three wolves that joined in.
    •  Stains, my conjured familiar, is actually a big help with distracting the tougher enemies.
    •  Into the cave...
    • Bandit outlaw in the first room, dispatched with my bow/axe combo.
    • If you loot the key off of them, it opens the locked door(novice).
    • The chief has two or three bandits with him, I suggest shooting the clay pots hanging from the ceiling, these ignite the oil on the floor.
    • Going up the path leading out of the forge room will take you to the spike pit, this includes an Altmer dressed as Link(maybe?)

     Chests/Bosses:

      Chest1:

    • Difficulty: Unlocked
    • Loot: Amren's Family Sword, Orcish Warhammer, Flawless Garnet, Gold(63), Lockpick(3), Potion of the Warrior, Scroll of Call to Arms
    • Affected: Maybe? I specialize in two-handed weapons and the chest did yield a warhammer. However, Potion of the Warrior modifies one-handed weapon damage.

      Boss Battle:

    • Boss: Bandit Chief
    • Weapon: Battleaxe
    • Playstyle: Bow to knock down clay pots, Battleaxe, and Conjured Familiar
    • Loot: Gold(100), Steel Armor, Steel Helmet, Steel Cuffed Boots, Steel Imperial Gauntlets, Steel Battleaxe of Weariness(Stamina Damage), Steel Dagger
    • Affected: Maybe? It seems like the boss was affected by the trend due to his battleaxe.

     Noteable Items/Locations:

    • Book: Weapon: Poacher's Axe: Three extra points of damage whilst fighting animals. This axe can be upgraded with Steel Ingots. Disenchanting will grant Huntsman's Prowess
    • Spell Tome: Transmute  Mineral Ore: Iron to Silver, Silver to Gold

I Bing the location and edit screenshots I find (on the 360)
I'm not sure yet, I might drop it once I'm able to survive
