“Man breathed its first breath on the sacred mountain; the last kiss waited atop its summit as well.”
Cast through time ages ago, Alduin returns to Nirn. Paarthurnax waits on Monahven, and a Dragonborn waits in the wings.
Skyrim has forgotten its history and heritage, and denied its magical roots. Can Farkas discover (and accept) who he is in time to save his beloved motherland?
As a true son of Kyne, he’s bound to give it his best shot.
The title, A Good Man Goes To War, was taken from a poem by Steven Moffat. It's from the Doctor Who series, the eleventh doctor to be specific. Lots of things drew me to this poem, from the Companions' loyalty to Skyrim and their neutrality, to Farkas's live-and-let-live. kind-hearted personality, to Paarthurnax's obstinate drive to be "good." And other things, but - spoilers, sweetie.
Anyway, at its simplest, this is the story of two sets of brothers. The fate of Skyrim will rise or fall based on their journeys, their discoveries, the people they meet along the way, and those they've loved from the beginning. Lots of romance and intrigue. Surprise characters pop up along the way, and just FYI, things are...a little different here. The blurb states that Skyrim has forgotten its history and heritage - very few in Skyrim know dragons ever existed, and fewer still know anything about a dragonborn or that Nords can speak with the Voice. It's all almost completely erased from history. Why this is so will come out as the story unfolds. Rated for sex and Skyrim-typical violence.
Night will fall and drown the sun when a good man goes to war.
Friendship dies and true love lies, night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war.
Demons run, but count the cost. The battle's won, but the child is lost.
