Chapter 1: Land of the Nords

It was noon, and the sun was high the sky, altough it was still partially covered by the ashes of Red Mountain. Aleya has just arrived at the Port of Vivec. The port has been moved a few miles southeast after the destruction of it's originial site and Vivec City. You could still see the giant crater left behind when Bar Dau crashed into Vivec City. The new port was built and a small town emerged around it, called the Port of Vivec. She was standing on a ship bound for Blacklight, capital city of Morrowind. She was waiting for Birrayne. After an hour, and mere moments before the ship set sail, he arrived. He got on the ship and greeted Aleya.

''Sorry I'm late. Haven't sleep well. Too excited.'' He said.

''I know the feeling.'' Said Aleya. ''Should be fun.''

''Should be fun? And these words are coming from someone who hated the idea of leaving Morrowind.'' Said Berrayne and smiled.

    ''People change.'' Said Aleya.

    ''Not overnight.'' Said Berrayne.

''Quit moaning and get to your quarters'' said Aleya and pushed him towards the door.

They entered the lower deck and made their way towards their room. The ship smelled of sweat and salt water. Aleya was on the verge of vomiting.  The rocking of the ship didn't help either. They entered the room which was at the front end of the ship. The room was small but cozy, and had two windows which were made out of old canon  openings. The ship once served in the Redoran navy, as a light warship. As they put their bags down, the captain of the ship came inside.

''Miss Telvanni, can you come to the upper deck for a moment?'' he asked.

''Of course. I'll be up there shortly.'' Said Aleya.

She made her way back to the upper deck. She already hated the ship because of it's stench.

''What did you need, captain.'' She asked.

''I just wanted to say that you don't need to worry about the expenses of the voyage. Everything has been paid by your House.'' Explained the captain.

''Thank you captain. I hope that my friend and I didn't cause any complications.'' Said Aleya.

''Like I said. You should have no worries.'' Said the captain.

With a small glance, Aleya spotted a sailor looking at her, but he quickly moved his gaze. She turned to the captain.

''I noticed several of your men were looking at me.'' She said.

''You must forgive them. They have been sailing for the past three months. A beautiful young lady like yourself comes aboard? It's gonna attract some attention.'' Explained the captain.

''Then I'll try to stay below deck.'' Smiled Aleya and went towards her room.

The voyage lasted for three days. Altough boring at first, Aleya managed to find some entertainment for herself and Berrayne. She documented the packs of animals she saw on the shores of the Inner Sea, and started writing a diary of her journey. Still, she felt happiness when the ship finaly entered the port of Blacklight. The city was big and full of people. However, Aleya had no time to admire the view. She needed to find some transport to the border of Skyrim.

''I'll see if I can find some horses at the stables. You go see if there's a ship that is going to Windhelm or Solitude.'' Said Aleya to Berrayne.

They separated and Aleya went towards the city gates, the obvious location of the stables. She passed through the city, looking at different shops along the way. But, she knew that she had to save her septims for her journey. As she neared the city gates, she was dragged into an alley, and was thrown on the road. She turned around and saw three Nords standing above her.

''Look at what the cat dragged in.'' Said one of them. ''We're gonna have some fun with you.''

''First we'll take your coin.'' Said one.

''Then we'll take you.'' Said the other and smiled.

''No!'' said Aleya and flung a fireball at the Nords face.

He started screaming as his face was engulfed in flames and his skin was charred. He fell on the floor and started rolling to put the flames out. After the flames dissapeared, he stood up and pointed at her.

''What are you waiting for!? Kill her!'' He yelled.

The other two Nords jumped at Aleya but she rolled out of the way. She engulfed her leg in fire and kicked one of them in the chest, knocking his air out. He started rolling on the ground, gasping for air. The other got back up on his feet. Aleya took an old broken shield that was lying around, engulfed it in fire and threw it at the Nord. The force of the shield sent the Nord back and through the window he was standing in front of. The third Nord was shocked. Aleya looked at him and conjured a familiar. The Nord ran as the familiar chased him. Aleya stood up and called a nearby guard.

''What happened here?'' the guard asked.

''These men attacked me, there was a third but he ran away.'' She said.

''How did you…'' the guard said and pointed at the Nords.

    ''Fire spells.'' Said Aleya.

The guard nodded. ''You're free to go. I'll deal with these thugs'' he said.

Aleya made her way towards the stables. She called the stable owner.

''I would like to buy two horses.'' She said. ''How much are they?''

''1000 septims and their yours.'' Said the stable owner.

    '' 650 septims.'' Said Aleya.

The stable owner responded. ''840 septims.''

''750 septims and a firestorm scroll.'' Said Aleya and smiled.

The stable owner smiled as well. ''Deal.'' They shook hands. ''A silver tounge. You a Hlaalu?'' asked the stable owner.

    ''House of Telvanni.'' Said Aleya.

''A mage. Very well. Good luck on your path.'' Said the stable owner.

After a few hours, she meet with Berrayne. ''No ship is going to Skyrim.'' He said.

''No worries. I've got us covered.'' Said Aleya.

They left the city and made their way towards the border. The border crossing was abandoned. They entered Skyrim and made camp near the crossing. They've set up camp and lighted a campfire. Aleya took out a map of northern Tamriel.

She pointed at Riften. ''First thing tommorow, we go straight to Riften to find our Khajiit. Then, we're going to Whiterun to ask around about the thief.'' She said and rolled up the map.

They entered the tent and went to sleep.

Has a few tricks does Aleya...
What with her use of fire spells, I wonder if the Flaming Familiar will make an appearance.
