Gaze Upon the Stars

  • Look for the answer among the stars, friend.

Stop for a moment and avert your eyes from your feet and gaze upon the sky,

    no matter where you are.

Look up from the mighty sands of Alik'r,

look up from the top of the relentless march of Dragontail,

look up from the lions preying on you among bushes of Rihad's savannah,

look up from the jagged and dry ground of Craglorn.

Look up and tell me you do not see the truth in the stars.

Gaze upon the Warrior and tell me you do not see

Ebonarm riding his mighty Steed Warmaster.

Gaze upon the Warrior and tell me you do not see

HoonDing the Make Way riding souls like if they were his Steed.

Gaze upon the Thief and tell me you do not see

Morwha's thousand hands trying to grasp you and hug you on her teats.

Gaze upon the Thief and tell me you do not see

Malooc and his hordes trying to take away what the Warrior Wave conquered.

Gaze upon the Mage and tell me you do not see

Tu'whacca the Eye of the Mage shining bright to guide us to Far Shores.

Gaze upon the Mage and tell me you do not see

Ruptga, Tall Papa with a Stick, walking at different angles in Walkabout.

Gaze upon the Serpent and tell me you do not see

Satakal shed his Worldskin and live on.

Gaze upon the Serpent and tell me you do not see

Sep threatening us all with his endless Hunger.

Gaze upon Lord and Lady, one and the same,

    one and one eleven,

and tell me you do not see

Diagna and Leki, one and one eleven.

Gaze upon the Mage's Charges, following,

Apprentice learning, Ritual turning, Golem burning,

and tell me you do not see

Divad the Singer and Book of Circles born from Hunding.

Gaze upon them and tell me you do not see

heroes of old, Song of the Blade.

Gaze upon the Tower and the Shadow it casts

and tell me you do not see

Tava like a shining beacon on the sea,

tell me you do not see,

Zeht walking among the fields under the Tower.

Gaze upon the Lover and tell me you do not see

Ius and his love for animals.

Gaze upon the Lover and tell me you do not see

Onsi and his love for swords.

Gaze upon the stars and tell me you do not see

    Strong Warrior charging

    Steed prancing

    Lady dancing

    Lord advancing

    Clever Thief watching

    Lover sighing

    Shadow lying

    Tow'r defying

    Wise Mage ordering

    Apprentice learning

    Ritual turning

    Golem burning

    Through the night.

Gaze upon the stars and tell me you do not see....

Wow, a great first entry Singer.
You've done a terrific job with the star signs. It takes me back to Morrowind believe it or not. There was always that spark of purpose behind them.
Looking forwards to your next piece.

Wow, this is some poem, Singer. And your first blog entry too. I hope you continue to write more for TV. I like the use of parallel construction and the use of the constellations. Are you a fan of Redguard Lore? It is not my specialty, but I appreciate th...  more
