Useful Door Bar Trick

  • August 1, 2012

Have you ever been in a cave and been thinking "Woah! There's a door over there! I'll go check it out!"  Only to find that the door is barred from the other side? Well this is a little trick I learned a while back that will really help all of you dungeon runners

First, you need to find a door that's barred. Then you simply have to move at odd angles near the sides of the door. Finally, after moving around for quite a bit, you should find an angle that allows you to "see" the bar that's keeping you out. All you need to do is activate it, then you can get through to wherever the door leads without going through all of the trouble!

But don't get your hopes up! I tried doing this in one random cave only to find that I opened the door to a closet that could've been opened by walking through a nearby corridor.

I hope this helps you out!

Also, if a door is locked, you can use wooden plates and bowls to get through them. (plates are easiest)

Just pick up a wooden plate, keep it in front of you, and run into the door, if all went well, you should be pushed through.

Yeah, you can use it to get the ebony blade and such without doing the quest.

You need to be carefull though, you need atleast 2 plates when doing that, most of the times the plate won't be there on the other side with you, so you can't get out^^

Thanks for the hint, I hate listening to that awefully boring conversation and usually I accidentally end it right before it's done so I need to listen the whole thing over again.

    You should post a tutorial

Actually using that to get the Ebony Blade messes up the quest, and you can't "betray" your companions.
