Sucks to hear about your computer Liss. At least you have a backup computer that's not completely terrible. I've been through complete hard drive crashes and corrupted windows updates that forced a complete reinstall a couple times myself, so I've definitely been there =\

On another topic, I find myself curious to all of you who are doing builds for this event. How many of you, if any, are using mods that change significant parts of your character? Since mods are available to a much wider variety of people, I feel like we might be seeing more mod-oriented content. Especially since the CB archives have pretty much exhausted all of the playstyle variations that I could imagine. It could really add a whole new dynamic to CB that's pretty under-represented currently (not without reason, of course).

While I'm not creating my build with its use in mind I am providing a perk spread for Ordinator should there be anyone using it that wants to play the build. The reason I'm not just making an oridinator build is becuase I'm aware that even though consoles have access to it, not everyone would use it and there are other overhauls that change the perks available. It's also easier for people to adapt a vanilla perk spread to the overhaul that they are using, since everyone that plays the game understands the vanilla perks.

I think I'm kind of lucky that I'm on PS4 and that most of the massive mods just aren't available there yet. I have a few magic related mods that add more spells to the character, and I'm trying to put a small amount of focus on them but overall it's just difficult for me to actually make a character that's vastly different from Vanilla.

Well, as it turns out. The diagnostic check revealed nothing wrong with my hardrive. I did a spring cleaning of my accumulated skyrim saves and wala, game is running fine again. Looks like playtests are back in business. :D

This is actually the kind of thing I had in mind DB. Stuff that adds more spells, or adds specific armor/weapons, or opens up the gameplay a little bit in one way or another. For example, there's a mod that has a bunch of druid-type conjuration spells that I'm going to test out because the idea of having a druid in skyrim has always been frustrating as hell because I can't make it work to how I would envision it in my head. Stuff like that that can really bring a broader and more rich gameplay experience to Skyrim. And, like I mentioned earlier, it gives us more flexibility in build-making because so much of the original game has already been done.

Ordinator is a *fantastic* perk spread, and I love it. I especially love the ideas they have for spellswords in the alteration tree. It's my favorite perk overhaul by a wide margin, even if some of the destruction perks *might* be balanced for higher difficulties (in my opinion). And I certainly wouldn't suggest, necessarily, doing a character build around a gigantic overhaul like Ordinator, because while you and I may adore it, some other people may love the hell out of SkyRE or SPERG or some of the others, and it would just make things like that harder to co-opt into your own game.

That's an excellent point Achloryn, I hadn't even thought of that to be honest (I've checked out that mod, it seems interesting but I took, ah...More Conjuration which adds just way too many new summons for me to get used to), I was thinking bigger overhauls like Ordinator. I think there are a lot of smaller mods that really make my current character much more interesting to play, just two examples are Mortal Wounds and Arcane Thirst which remove my Health and Magicka Regen completely.

I think it might just be the way for Builds in the future. I mean for the last, probably 6 months I've been pulling away from Building a fair bit, just going through the motions and this has really boosted my love for the game again.

Hello! Was wondering if I could sign up for this event, even though it's way past the deadline. I am aware I'd be at a grave disadvantage, but the idea of a Bosmer Necro-technomancer is really appealing, and even though I will probably end up making the build anyways, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask if I could join in on the contest. Thanks for reading this!

Could anyone do a quick check if Besthesda has fixed the bugs and glitches on SE? I need to make sure that Augmented Destruction perks affect all spells and also if they fixed the Fortify Resto glitch.

This might need to be another restoration-type project. Get a few people to go through the old T&T threads and try out a bunch of the glitches, like unlimited concentration spells, or vampire-werewolf hybrid, etc.

I've confirmed the Atronach stone can be programmed with Fortify Resto potions as per usual. Unlimited Stamina trick works too. I assume all other known versions of this work.

I might have to withdraw from the event due to exams, I'll see if I can find the time to play Skyrim anyways though.

This early in the school year? My exams don't start until the summer.
