Hey I'm new here, so I don't know if anyone's posted this before, but I had a happy little accident that showed me how to level a variety of skills very fast, especially early on.
I picked up the Atronach stone and headed to a vampires cave to contract vampirism, and I discovered that you can level nearly any skill that can be used with one hand by fighting vampires with the Atronach stone equipped, mostly spells.
The Vampires first resort is to use drain life, which with the Atronach fills up magicka very fast and since health is being drained, allows you to level Restoration fast by constantly using the healing spell in one hand and allows you to raise other skills like one handed or destruction by attacking the vampire at the same time, and what is the vampire doing? Absorbing your limitless health so it doesn't die as long as you don't decide to kill it. Constant,constant leveling.
Summoning the bound sword works wonders for Conjuration, Muffle for Illusion but I'm not sure about Alteration. Point is you have a limitless supply of magicka and an immortal test dummy. I must have upgraded Destruction to 40 something as a Nord in under 15, 20 minutes. Restoration even higher.
