I know a bit about Akaviri lore so I can help here. The Ka Po' Tun are usually seen as good, but that isn't to say yours cannot be evil! I see this build as the type where you play it as YOU want to.
Smithing naturally is quite easy, no exploits needed. Simply use what you have to form leather bracers, iron daggers or whatever else you want and then sell them.

Hey Sam. There is no lore on good/evil with regards to the Ka Po' Tun but sometimes they are juxtaposed to the apparently evil Tsaesci, which may or may not be vampiric snakemen (possibly just men who were mythed up to all hell). Alignment for RP purposes would really be free choices. With the newer environment, I would think a Ka Po' Tun would be too proud to try and blend in and "play nice" so take no prisoners.
Smithing is a pain in everyone's ass. Just takes time. Transmute -> jewelry helps a lot.

Thank you for making a Khajiit build that actually could fit into the lore as a Khajiit with the power to use dragon shouts. It was always a reason why I never played Khajiit. Now I can

I have played this build before and never used a bow/crossbow with all the sneaking and sprinting I would more often than not close in on before they could get a shot at me plus I had shouts for enemies I couldn't reach with my blade
