Yeah, but part of the fun is being trapped, it's challenging and that's why it's a contest. If we can make great builds within strict limitations that shows the level of skill. That being said I do quite like your lore supported extra skill idea, but at this point I think it's too late to implement it. Part of the fun of the concept is not having the extra skills that we'd normally use. I've made racial paragon classes before and I used skills and abilities from the previous games.
I am also really worried about having a disproportionate amount of certain races. Maybe instead of randomly assigning people could reveal which race they chose. I don't want to ruin the surprise though, not sure which is better, having fewer repeats or having that element of mystery
