I usually play on master most of the time, so I was a bit skeptical looking at that spell list. Also since the unofficial skyrim patch fixes the aspect of terror/flames damage increase (among other things), I modded in an enhanced version of flames that mimics the damage of AoT + flames. I still took aspect of terror though, for the sake of the build.
Well about a couple hours in, I get absolutely destroyed by a group of vamps. So, I decided to use that mirage trick you listed. Oooh boy, they were wailing on that poor familiar for a good long time..enough time for me to roast all of them ahahaha! You probably knew this already, but you can actually use that trick on any enemy, as long as there are atleast two of them. I just cast ash shell on one, then dual cast fury on another, and they will proceed to attack their invulnerable comrade. Meanwhile I move in and burn em'. I haven't gotten MfD or slow time yet, but I will get there eventually.
All in all, pretty solid build. Felt extremely underpowered at first, but once I got the techniques down, it became much more fun and viable! I still have a lot more to do on my character, but i'm enjoying myself so far. I originally was going to just like this for the very fitting music, but I found the build to be good as well.
