thanks henson  and here he is just to show as proof that I still have him   Sorin Markov , ancient vampire

Background: Born in skyrim during the time of tiber septim.Sorin was raised into a very rich family and had no problems or worries but as Sorin grew into his twentys he desired more so he went off to join tiber septims crusade to conquer tamiral. And as Sorin fought at Tiber's side the two grew into good friends while sorin was his top lieutenant. And sorin witnessed all of Tiber's triumphs and glory even when he became emperor. But when once when sorin returned one day to his home years later in skyrim he found that his family were killed by vampires. The vampire responsible passed on the gift/curse to sorin before he diead of his wounds born from the family defending themselves. And when Sorin returned to his   friend tiber and confessd what had happend Tiber cast him out! Sending for his guards to drive him out. Sorin escaped rage filled. But Sorin decided to work on other things over the ages. He built up a vampire coven and ruled from a castle, But soon became bored with castle politics and so the killed them off. But when He heard that Tiber septim was worshiped as divine he laughed . And So then then for most of his time sorin trained in fighting, gathered knowledge in books and enjoyed life he also traveled all around tamireal inculding Akvair, experiencing new things . What sorin also did on his travels was to kill vampires who he thought threatened the future of the vampire like a vampire who killed too many people or drew too much attention. But  on one of his trips back to skyrim  sorin was attacked by the dawn guard , ambushed by 3 men sorin drew his sword and killed them all! Sorin then decided he wanted to stay in skyrim for a time. So then he wandered skyrim looking for a suitable place to live until he happened upon Blackwood.

The New Blackwood actually takes place a considerable amount of years after the events of Skyrim, but since your character is a vampire that isn't an issue. (In other words, don't listen to Brynjolf. Not only in reference to this, but just as a general statement. )

I may have to do this... but I always found forum-based role playing to be kinda slow.

I'm used to a chat-based setting... or LARPing... I will happily LARP as a squid.

Oh, I didn't think that the chat widget was going to be used for this! That does change quite a bit, it definitely weights my opinion on whether or not I'll join.

I probably won't join right away, as I do like to craft role-playing characters across weeks at a time, but it'll be nice to sit and watch how it's done. Any estimate on when the group will open back up?

Even if he wasn't a vampire, he would just remake the same character in this iteration of BW, it wouldn't really matter.

Exactly. Any characters can return, they just need to be reformatted to fit the new systems.

and the skill system is a little different too.  I advise to wait and see the new system before people design their characters...

As long as it is realistic then there's no issue. We're going to have a "strike system", meaning if you do something that is completely impossible (or completely ridiculous) then you will be issued a strike. As the saying goes, "three strikes, you're out!"

    Define impossible.

Playing as adwemer or a sload impossible?

    You'll see. Read your lore!

A few races (such as the extinct or thought to be extinct races [Dwemer, Lilmothiit, Kothringi]) will be completely unplayable, and won't even be an option. Other, more rare races (Akaviri races, Falmer, Sload, etc) may only be playable in moderation, as this will help maintain immersion.

What I meant is more like this:

If someone decided that their character is going to be able to leap onto a building, even though they are no taller than an average Nord (for example), they will be issued a strike, as this is not something you can actually do.

Well some of the buildings have very low roofs - I jump onto those all the time in-game.  So let's be careful when issuing strikes, I would hate for someone to get a strike because they simply pictured the building differently in their mind.  But yes, I understand your meaning here - we're not going to allow players to role-play acts that defy physics, such as a 4 meter vertical leap.

Exactly. We don't want immersion-breaking acts going on.

We're hoping to release in about a week, but it all depends on how smoothly things work out.
