The Expunging of Live Roleplaying: Skyrim and Live Roleplaying:

To be accurate, I think it was Todd who shut down Tae's attempts to publicise the new site

I'm all for corporate responsibility, but when it comes down to it I'm not bothered one way or the other about the other site.

Thank you for joining the discussion, Sand. For a while I was not sure I even wanted to start this discussion because I despise drama, but I decided that people deserved to know about the content and hard work that was removed from this site.

Chris, I'm sorry you feel disrespected by the removal of LRP. I truly don't believe that was anyone's intention here. I never participated at all in LRP, but it's obvious that you poured a ton of yourself into that part of the site, and for that I truly commend you, as well as the other people who have invested so much of themselves into it. Indeed, I have done the same thing across the site since coming on as Admin, and I understand your frustration. Todd has apologized now publicly for the oversight in failing to announce it, and I would like to think we can now move on from this.

As far as transparency is concerned, I would just like to remind folks that the Admins and the Hosts are volunteers. No one is getting paid here, and since becoming an Admin in January, I know that just about every spare second I have has gone to this site and helping to make it run. There have been scores of requests for changes in ways that directly conflict with one another. I would just like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we hear your concerns, and are already working extremely hard with every spare second we have. Changes are either not fast enough for people and too fast for some. We're doing the best we can between Ning errors, work schedules, real life commitments, and continuing to be human people (eating and sleeping) to make this site some place you all still want to call your second home, and it is not easy or a responsibility any of us take lightly. We're finite beings, and sometimes there will be oversights like this one. Please keep that in mind and bear with us, as there is no shortage of work for us to do just to keep things running.

At the end of the day, we all care about this site. Perhaps different parts, but we're all here because these things matter to us. Some people come for the community, some people need a creative outlet, but at the core, the site matters to us all in some way. We wouldn't log in every day if it didn't. So let us all please try to keep that which we all have in common in mind going forward.

    Likewise!

My pleasure, Chris. I had a big part in LRP and it's only fit I finally join the discussion.

As a former Host, I have to agree with this, even if I wasn't too active

Okay this is gonna be my final comment aside from any replies I must give here and it's going to state my entire view, and have me calling out a bunch of stuff to prove my point so have a warning.

DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE OF THIS. IT IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND.

Okay, now that I've finished up with that. Here goes.

Not just Chris or the people in the LRP group saw this as odd or malicious, anyone who knew of the ordeal did. The GMs and Players essentially weren't allowed to know of it's deletion or that countless hours of our work could be worthless and gone with the wind if we didn't save it quickly. Had Tae not sacked up and told us, which thank her for doing so, we would've lost countless hours and have no idea as to why. Anyone would see that as malicious or wrong.

Any mention of LRP or it's newer, spiritual successor is practically forbidden and Emer hasn't mentioned it publicly until now (AS FAR AS I KNOW)

The entire ordeal seems wrong and as if he had it out for us, which I'm quite sure he doesn't but it's still wrong.

That is all, do with it as you will. I'm out.

I've got to agree with you there, Sand. Whenever I (And I'd assume it was the same for everyone else) asked for information as to why Live Roleplying was being removed it was the same; "A public announcement will be made soon."

As Tae said earlier, whenever something important happens on the Site (Live Roleplay, Name Change and CharacterCrusade come to mind) it's either done without the community's knowledge, or just hushed up and swept under the rug.

    Which is sad, really.

When it comes to things like the site name, logo, partnerships, and direction, that's the job of the Admin's to decide. We may ask for input from the community on those things, but the site is not (and never claimed to be) a democracy.

I will agree that I should have made a public announcement about LRP, that's my fault entirely.
