From what I understand the Staff of Magnus is an artifact that attempts to preserve magical balance. When a mage grows too powerful with the staff it will leave the owner in order to preserve the balance. Perhaps a mage got hold of it but became too powerful so the Staff disappeared into labyrinthian.

a Quick question. is there such things as a Paladin of Akatosh? Melissa Raven, my Dunmer follower is one. since she was raised in the Blades and also serves with my Dragonborn. I was thinking that the Ancient Blades, the Dragonguard are like Paladins.

Blades worship Talos, but what do you mean by Paladin of Akatosh? A holy warrior who follows Akatosh?

yes. I am pretty sure the old blades worshiped Akatosh, since HE was the one that gave St. Alessia the Amulet of Kings.

Blades never worshipped Akatosh. The Dragonguard were Tsaesci, who knows what gods they worshipped if any. As for the Blades, I am not even sure they really worship Talos, it looks more like the Order of Talos was just their secret safehouse.

I don't know. The guy they were sworn to serve for being Dragonborn became a god. Why wouldn't they worship him?

    the Tsaesci are the Snake-men.

Ah, but it wasn't him they had sworn to serve, it was Reman. And something makes me think that the Tsaesci didn't worship Reman even though they served him.

I seriously doubt if they did. The Blades were formed from the Akaviri Dragonguard who freaking hate dragons. Thy served the Dragonborn, the only mortal capable of truly killing a dragon forever. The Blades still hate dragons.

An paladin of Akatosh as a warrior who claims divine edict from Akatosh or wishes to enforce Akatosh's commandments isn't unreasonable. I don't see why they wouldn't exist.

I didn't say they always worshipped Talos. That'd be dumb. They do worship him since his ascension to power though.
